Monday May 2, 2011Gators Go Around the Globe to Finish 2011 Spring Signing Class

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida men’s swimming program inked four more student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to swim for the Gators beginning in 2011-12, head coach Gregg Troy announced Monday afternoon. The announcement comes after signing 10 male swimmers this past November.

“It was already a great group in the fall, but these guys add even more versatility and make the class even deeper,” Troy said.

The Gators went around the globe to fill out their spring recruiting class, gaining signatures from Scotland and Spain.

“We put a real priority in the fall in staying American in recruiting, but these are two foreign swimmers that sought us out,” Troy continued. “We’re just really fortunate to have the connections we do in Spain and Britain. They both have a tremendous wealth of talent; they’re two of the best young athletes in Europe.”
