On the upcoming game against South Carolina:

“A couple comments about this week, obviously championship week in Gainesville. I like where our team is right now. I’m not talking about execution-wise. I’m talking about development because you’re either going one way or the other, and we’re heading in the right direction. And that’s coming through some adversity, coming through some injuries. If you had told me that we’d have been five or six games without Rainey and (Jeff) Demps, you’d be down to your third kicker, and some other issues we’re dealing with and you get a chance to play in the best stadium in America in front of the best fans for a shot at the SEC championship, we’d take it. I have a lot of respect for the team we’re playing and their coach. They’ve really expanded their offense with that back they have and the mobile quarterback. He’s running a lot of spread runs, which is a pain, and then they got a couple of dynamic receivers, real big receivers. So as I did on my TV show, I’d like to make this one go down in the books. Obviously, the football team’s got to do their part which is the most important one, but I’d like to see this stadium absolutely out of control. We have the best home field advantage in America, let’s use it to a maximum and unless people have got something else to do, I’d like to see a couple hundred thousand people here packed outside, inside, wherever it is and have a lot of fun with this one because our guys are going to play really hard, really hard.”

Junior QB John Brantley - WATCH NOW

On the three-quarterback system:

“It’s opening up our offense. It’s giving us different looks. The defense has to play two different kinds of defense. They have to game-plan for Trey (Burton) and Jordan (Reed), and they also have to game plan for myself. It gets them into a lot more man and gives us (the opportunity) to be able to take more shots. When Jordan threw his touchdown pass, it was man defense. It works out well. It (allows) us to open up our offense some and get things going like we have.”

On being the starting quarterback and team leader:

“I guess that means I’m the leader of the ship. That’s the role I’ve taken on this offseason and all summer and coming into camp and everything, so that’s the way I still look at it – that I still need to lead this team even though I’m not taking all the snaps. And that’s fine with me. I’ve just got to be able to lead the troops, I guess you could say, and keep this thing rolling.”

Senior S Ahmad Black - WATCH NOW

On Janoris Jenkins matching up with South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffery:

“It will be a great matchup. Both of them are great players. We tend to stick Janoris on the best receiver on the other team, so it’ll be a great matchup.”

On third-down success against Vanderbilt:

“However many yards they needed, we just stopped them before they got to that many yards. We talked about on third down we had to get off the field and get the offense on the field. We made it our job to just stop them every time, whatever it took. We had to focus, and we focused on it a little bit more.”

Senior OL Mike Pouncey - WATCH NOW

On the three-quarterback rotation:

“All of them played good on Saturday. Obviously, John Brantley is our starting quarterback and he’s going to stay that way. All of them played good. It doesn’t matter who is behind me as long as we win.”

On how the team has success working with several quarterbacks:

“Obviously, they put all the extra work in. All of those guys are unselfish guys. All they want to do is win, so we praise them for that. As long as they keep up the good work, we’ll keep doing good.”
