The first
set was on-serve until the Hatters broke Will in the 12th game to
earn the first set. The Gators came right back and took an early break for a
3-1 lead. That was the only break of the second set, as Will served out in the
12th game to force a deciding third, where
Boonstra,
a senior, improves her career doubles record to 75-21 career doubles record,
including a 24-3 mark playing with Will, who is 37-6 on the doubles court.
Earlier in
the day, Will, ranked eighth in the country, lost 6-1, 6-4 to
The Gator
freshman concludes the singles portion of her initial rookie season with a 48-5
overall record, the fourth most wins in a season in program history. Will also
compiled a 26-match winning streak during the year, a run that tied for the
fourth-longest in program history.
