The Florida football program will send 10 players to the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine, which takes place Feb. 24-March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Over the six days, players will be put through a series of drills, tests and interviews with more than 600 NFL personnel, including head coaches, general managers and scouts.

Florida’s total of 10 invitees is tied for the third-highest total in the country and is the most it has had under Urban Meyer. The Southeastern Conference has a nation’s-best 64 players invited to participate in the combine.

Of the Gators’ 10 players invited to the event, five were seniors this past season while five are early entrants following their junior season. Among the 10 are six first-team All-Americans in Joe Haden (2009), Aaron Hernandez (2009), Brandon James (2008), Maurkice Pouncey (2009), Brandon Spikes (2008 and 2009) and Tim Tebow (2007). In addition, Riley Cooper, Jermaine Cunningham, Carlos Dunlap, Haden, Hernandez, Pouncey, Spikes and Tebow each earned All-SEC recognition this past season.

The group also boasts several national award winners, including Hernandez (2009 Mackey Award), Pouncey (2009 Rimington Trophy), Spikes (2008 Chevrolet National Defensive Player of the Year) and Tebow (2007 Heisman Trophy, among others).

The workout portion of the event will take place from Saturday, Feb. 27, through Tuesday, March 2.
