University of Florida head coach Roland Thornqvist met with the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.

Coach Thornqvist shared his assessment of the 2009 Fall season, which concluded last weekend, with freshman Allie Will (Boca Raton, Fla.) advancing to the round of 16 at the ITA National Indoor Championships and the rest of the team providing a strong showing at the Kitty Harrison Invitational hosted by North Carolina. Freshman Lauren Embree (Marco Island, Fla.) was the top point scorer for the weekend at that tournament and was crowed champion of the three-day event that featured athletes from 12 schools competing in singles and doubles matches.

He also discussed and fielded questions about his biggest observations from the fall, the impact of the newcomers, which players have stepped up as leaders, on having high expectations with so many young players on the roster and on the strength of the Southeastern Conference this season.
