Women's Tennis Wins Four of Five Singles Matches to Highlight Saturday's Play
The Gators
captured four of five singles matches and two of three on the doubles court
during the second day of play at the sixth-annual Kitty Harrison Invitational
held at the
Suiting
up for the Gators in this individual tournament held in

Gators suited up for singles action against players from William & Mary,
with Embree, a freshman, netting a 7-6, 6-2 victory
over 107th-ranked Ragini Acharya.
Revzina and Mather earned three-set victories,
respectively, while Barlett led her match against Lauren Sabacinski, 6-3, 2-0, when Sabacinski
defaulted.
“At one
point we were trailing on most of the singles courts and we were forced to dig
deep and rally,” UF associate head coach Dave
Balogh said. “I liked that we were pushed and
then responded the way we did.”
On the
doubles court, UF’s lone loss of the three matches
against
Action
concludes Sunday, when the Gators square off against Georgia Tech in doubles,
before wrapping up on the singles court against
The
Gators competed against players from 11 other schools, including Duke, Georgia
Tech,
This
weekend is the final competition of the fall season for the Gators, who return
to the courts on January 15, 2010, at the Freeman Memorial held in Las Vegas,
before launching their 2009-10 dual match schedule on Jan. 24 playing host to
North Texas at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex.
