The 13th -ranked University of Florida menís golf team finished in second place at the inaugural Atlanta Intercollegiate Tuesday, while sophomore Camilo Benedetti (pictured left) (Medellin, Colombia/Instituto Jorge Robledo) placed fourth in the individual race.

The team posted a round of 3-over-par 291 on the par 72, 6,899-yard layout of Eagles Landing Country Club to finish at 16-over-par 880 for runner-up honors. Auburn took the team title, finishing with a 7-over-par 871.

Benedetti fired a final round of 1-under-par 71 to finish at 1-under-par 215, while junior Nick Gilliam (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) carded a 73 on the day to tie for eighth at 3-over-par 219.

"Overall, I played well but I missed some shots," said Benedetti. "I kept myself composed and took everything calmly. I am playing consistently right now, I just need to work on my swing."

Sophomore Chris Zeller (Boca Raton, Fla./St. Andrews) shot 79 to finish at 11-over-par 227 to tie for 19th. Freshman Bubba Dickerson (Hilliard, Fla./West Nassau) also carded a 73 on the day, to tie for 24th place at 12-over-par 228. Junior Ben Banks (Surrey, England/St. Andrews) shot 74 in the final round to tie for 52nd place at 28-over-par 244.

"As eventful as yesterday was, today we flatlined and were never close to Auburn," said Coach Buddy Alexander. "We did not have a bad day, this was a tough course and Auburn played beautifully.

The Gators will be back in action May 18-20 in Moosic, Pa., at the NCAA East Regionals. Florida will be the third seed in the South District. Twenty-seven teams will compete in the regional in which at least eight teams will advance.
