Tallahassee, FL

Florida’s field athletes combined for eight NCAA regional-qualifying marks and two event wins on Saturday, the final day of the Seminole Twilight Invitational, hosted by Florida State University at its Mike Long Track.

For the weekend, the Gators won four events and posted 11 NCAA regional-qualifying marks. The meet marked the final tune-up for Florida before it plays host to the 2009 Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday through Sunday at Percy Beard Track at James G. Pressly Stadium. To order tickets online for the event, please log on to http://www.gatorzone.com/trackfield/tour/sec/2009/.

Junior thrower Mariam Kevkhishvili (Tbilisi, Georgia), the 2009 NCAA Indoor Shot Put Champion, captured the women’s shot put with an NCAA regional-qualifying toss of 56-10.25/17.33m.

Senior pole vaulter Natalie Moser (Tampa, Fla.) won the women’s pole vault event for the second time this outdoor season, posting an NCAA regional-qualifying leap of 13-1.50/4.00m. She also won the women’s pole vault at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge in March.

Sophomore thrower Kemal Mesic (Sarajevo, Bosnia), who on Friday recorded the ninth-best discus throw in program history, followed that up Saturday with a runner-up finish in the men’s shot put with a regional-qualifying toss of 62-2.25/18.95m.
