Stacy Bishop scored twice to give UF a 2-0 SEC Tournament semifinal win over South Carolina.
Two goals from
junior Stacy Bishop gave the No. 16 University
of Florida soccer team (13-4-4, 7-1-3 SEC) a 2-0 win over South Carolina (12-6-4,
5-2-4 SEC) in Friday’s semifinal round of the Southeastern Conference
Tournament held in front of a Orange Beach SportPlex
crowd of 511.
“KeLeigh pointed
out where the keeper was and then I just hit it,” Bishop said.
Bishop would
score again at 78:13 thanks to the assist from Shana Hudson.
“That (goal) was
all Shana. She played the ball in and Megan (Kerns) got there to deflect it and
all I had to do was put it in,” Bishop said. “But Shana definitely worked her
butt off to get it across.”
UF Head Coach Becky Burleigh was pleased with her
team’s effort Friday against a tough defensive USC squad and is glad to be back
in the SEC Tournament championship match after missing last year’s final.

Friday’s win is
the seventh shutout for UF this season and the sixth solo shutout for UF
goalkeeper Brittni Goodwin.
