The University of Florida’s final tuneup for the 2000 collegiate baseball season with the University of Hawaii JV squad was canceled due to rain Wednesday. Florida will open the 2000 season on Thursday against Hawaii at 11:35 p.m. ET. Junior Jimmy Ramshaw is scheduled to pitch for the Gators against Hawaii’s Randon Ho (LHP, 6-3, 2.57 ERA). The Sunshine Network will televise two of Florida’s three games against the University of Hawaii in the season-opening series. Florida’s season opener on Thursday will be shown live at 11:35 p.m., while the series finale will be joined in progress at midnight on Saturday, January 22. All three games will also be broadcast on WRUF-AM 850.
