Florida's eight-point half-time lead had been trimmed to four with 19 minutes left in the game before Udonis Haslem began the run, a team high under Billy Donovan, with a driving layup. South Alabama would not score again for almost seven minutes and found themselves down by 25 after they finally ended the drought.
"They disrupted our offense in the first half",said Donovan. "We had a difficult time with their post player. Then, in the second half, we went on a 23-zero run. It really opened the game up. That stretch there was probably the best basketball that we've played"
Florida finished the month of December undefeated for the first time since the 1942-43 season with a 7-0 mark during the last 31 days of the year.
