Sunday December 19, 1999Men's Basketball Defeats High Point, 109-60
Sophomore Mike Miller scored a team-high 20 points, while fellow sophomore Teddy Dupay added 16 points and eight assists to lead the Gators to their fifth straight win.
Florida posted its fourth straight game with at least 90 points, setting a new school record, as seven UF players scored in double figures for just the third time in Gator history.
Freshman Donnell Harvey recorded the second double-double of his career with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to help give the Gators a 50-31 edge on the boards.
What Gator coach Billy Donovan liked the most about the game was the 30 assists his team recorded. "We had 30 assists in the game, 16 in the first half and seven guys in double figures in scoring", said Donovan. "We were obviously much bigger and more physical than they were." Donovan also praised the play of his point guards. "The reason we scored the way we did is the play of Ted Dupay and Brett Nelson." The Gators will next play Rutgers in the Jimmy V Classic at East Rutheford, N.J., on Tuesday night. Tip-off will come at approximately 9:30 p.m., on ESPN.
