The Gators had three players -- sophomores Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller as well as junior Brent Wright record double-doubles, a feat that had not been accomplished at Florida since Dec. 15, 1978. Haslem had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Brent Wright had 11 points and 10 rebounds, but it was Miller, with 14 points and 12 rebounds, who keyed the second half comeback. Miller scored seven points during the 19-2 run and made a three-pointer to give the Gators an 83-70 lead.
Also scoring in double-figures were sophomore Teddy Dupay (12) and freshman Donnell Harvey (10).
"We certainly were challenged and the game, without question, was in jeopardy", said Gator coach Billy Donovan, who saw his team fall behind 40-38 at the break. "I thought their maturity and experience really hurt our basketball team."
The Gators shot 63 percent in the second half and over fifty percent for the game.
Florida moves to 6-1 on the season. The Gators will next play on Dec. 19, when they host High Point at the O'Connell Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
