Sophomore Corey Brewer’s shot with 27.5 seconds remaining to
play fell in while he was falling down and he turned it into three points
helping the Gators to a 57-53 victory over
The 2005-06 squad made its own history becoming the first
team to reach 30 wins as the Gators moved their record to 30-6 on the year.
Sophomore Joakim Noah led the
squad with 15 points and 10 rebounds and he also turned in five blocked shots.
Sophomores Taurean Green and Al Horford
also reached double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
The contest was tight and featured four ties and seven lead
changes before Brewer’s shot and free throw pulled the Gators ahead for good.
