Career Highlights:
Became just UF’s second freshman All-America selection in school history her first year as a Gator, joining 2011 senior Aja Paculba (2008)…Has three career solo one-hitters under her belt, one her freshman year and two her sophomore year in 2012…Also owns two combined one-hitters, one each season of her Gator career thus far… Entering her junior season, Rogers ranks fourth in UF’s career record book for most wins (64), second for most saves (7), fifth for lowest ERA (1.60) and sixth so far in her two-year career for most strikeouts (423)… Captured UF freshman records for wins (36), starts (36), complete games (28), shutouts (10), strikeouts (221), appearances (55) and innings pitched (265.2) her first year on campus in 2011.
As a Sophomore (2012): An All-SEC, SEC All-Defensive and NFCA All-America selection for the second consecutive season…A top-25 finalist for USA Softball’s Player of the Year Award…Eight of her 28 wins her sophomore season were against top-25 ranked opponents in the national polls…Ranked sixth in the country in ERA (1.23), 15th in the country in victories (28) and 16th nationally with her four saves in 2012…Was 28-8 on the season in the circle for the Gators, tossed a team-best 202 strikeouts through 228.1 innings pitched in 44 appearances…Started 35 games for UF and tossed 25 complete games on the season…Finished her sophomore season first in the league in saves (4) and second in the SEC in both ERA (1.23) and wins (28), and was fifth through the duration of the season in strikeouts (202)…Did not allow an earned run for six games to start the 2012 season and allowed no earned runs a total of five times in conference action…Tossed two one-hitters in 2012 – one versus Michigan State Feb. 17 and another versus Mississippi State on March 7 – and now owns three solo one-hitters in her tenure with the Gators…Earned the win in three of UF’s 2012 extra-innings wins (Eastern Michigan, LSU and Tennessee) and played a part in 12 of UF’s 20 shutout wins, including eight complete-game shutouts…Her stellar defense and heads-up play allowed her to help turn three double plays for the Gators on the season…Had a season-best 11 strikeouts against Eastern Michigan in UF’s home tourney, the Lipton Invitational, and had eight or more strikeouts a total of eight times her sophomore season in 2012…Had a career-best five assists April 27, 2012, in UF’s series opener versus Kentucky in Gainesville.
As a Freshman (2011): Florida’s first freshman All-American since Aja Paculba in 2008…Additionally the first freshman since Paculba to pick up All-SEC, Freshman All-SEC and All-SEC Defensive Team honors in her inaugural campaign with the Orange and Blue…A 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America second team and NFCA All-Southeast Region first team selection…Finished the season with 36 wins and a 1.92 ERA…Ranked third in the country in wins, second among all NCAA freshman pitchers…Additionally ranked 21st in shutouts (10) and 53rd in the nation in strikeouts…Tossed a one-hitter in the six-inning victory over Ole Miss March 18, 2011…Additionally collaborated with senior Stephanie Brombacher for a combined one-hitter against Jacksonville Feb. 16, 2011…Tossed four games with double-digit strikeouts, including her inaugural appearance as a Gator against Florida Gulf Coast Feb. 11 (11 Ks)…Followed up with 10 strikeouts in the win versus UCLA in Palm Springs Feb. 25, a career-high 12 K victory against Arkansas April 9, 2011, while fanning 10 in a career-high nine-inning winning effort in the April 24 series finale against Alabama…Captured UF freshman records for wins (36), starts (36), complete games (28), shutouts (10), strikeouts (221), appearances (55) and innings pitched (265.2)…Had three saves her freshman season, including one out – by strikeout – against Utah, 2.1 innings of hitless, scoreless relief at Auburn April 16 and 2.1 innings of scoreless work to close out a 1-0 victory over FSU May 4…Compiled a 6-3 record in NCAA Tournament play, chalking up 43 strikeouts in 51.1 innings throughout the end of May and into the WCWS in June…Named the SEC Pitcher of the Week twice, Feb. 28 and May 9…For her February SEC accolade, Rogers chalked up three big wins for the Gators in Palm Springs, earning victories over Indiana, No. 11/12 Texas and No. 2/2 UCLA…Entered the UF/Texas game in the ninth inning with one out, the game tied at 5-5, to strike out UT’s next two batters and give UF momentum to go ahead for the 6-5 extra-innings win…Rogers picked up SEC Pitcher of the Week May 9 after picking up all three wins in UF’s final SEC series versus Tennessee, having only started one of the three games, as the Gators won the SEC Eastern Division for the fourth-consecutive season...Did not allow an earned run in her first six conference games and allowed one or fewer in 18 appearances in league play…Led the Southeastern Conference in appearances (25), wins (18), starts (18) and innings pitched (128.2)…Ranked fourth in the conference through league play in strikeouts.
High School / Travel Ball: A 2010 graduate of Lake Wales High School in Winter Haven, Fla. … Led the Lake Wales Highlanders to the 2007 Class 4A state title, 2008 4A Regional title and made a state championship finals appearance in 2009… Rogers is a four-time all-state and all-county first-team selection…The 2010 Lakeland Ledger Pitcher of the Year, Rogers finished her senior year 18-5 with a 0.38 ERA and 211 strikeouts in 140 innings…Was a finalist for Florida’s Gatorade Pitcher of the Year in 2009, while being named the 2009 Class 4A Pitcher of the Year by Miracle Sports… Also earned 2009 EA Sports Softball All-American second-team status in 2009… Was the Winter Haven News Chief’s pick for Pitcher of the Year in both 2008 and 2009…Was named Lakeland Ledger Player of the Year every season since her freshman campaign… Pitched for the Gold Coast Hurricanes travel club, which won the ASA National title in 2008 and took second at gold nationals in 2009…Was additionally a member of FCA and the Young Leaders of America.
