Career Highlights:

·         The first Gator since Megan Bush (2010) to hit two homers in one inning (4/8/12 vs. Ole Miss) – tied single-game school record

·         Had a school-record tying seven RBI in a single game, including six RBI in one inning (4/8/12 vs. Ole Miss)

·         Tied a program record with four walks in a game on two occasions as a junior (3/26/14 at UCF, 3/30/14 at Tennessee)

 

As a Senior (2015):

·         SEC Academic Honor Roll

·         63 games / 61 starts

·         Set career bests in hitting, at-bats, runs scored, hits, home runs, RBI, slugging and on-base percentage

·         Did not commit an error during her entire career

·         Hit a career-best and 17 home runs and led the team with a .536 on-base percentage

·         Her OBP shattered the previous single-season school record (Michelle Moultrie - .519, 2011)

·         Notched a .707 slugging clip, which stands 10thd all-time in the Gator single-season record book

·         Led the team with seven home runs in SEC play, when her team-best .814 slugging percentage was 107 points above her overall mark for the year

·         Recorded nine multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games this season

·         Tied a career high with three hits Feb. 11 at Jacksonville

·         Tied a career-best five-game hitting streak April 1-8, spanning the Gators series with South Carolina

·         Had multi-homer games against South Carolina (April 3), Florida State (April 8) and Missouri (May 2)

·         Recorded a season-high four RBI on May 2 at Missouri

·         Finished second on the team (Kirsti Merritt) with 27 hit-by-pitches

·         Showed improved patience at the plate, as Castro had 89 walks during her junior and senior seasons combined, as opposed to just 40 base-on-balls during her first two campaigns in Gainesville

 

As a Junior (2014):

·         SEC Academic Honor Roll

·         61 games / 53 starts

·         Led the squad with 35 starts in right field

·         Hit eight home runs and led the team with a .514 on-base percentage

·         Set a career high with three hits Feb. 16 vs. Minnesota at the Easton Desert Classic in Las Vegas

·         Tied that mark with three hits on June 3 vs. Alabama as UF clinched its first national championship

·         Recorded a career-best five-game hitting streak Feb. 8-14, spanning the Gators’ final three games at the USF Wilson-DeMarini Tournament and their first two contests at the Easton Desert Classic

·         Hit her first two home runs during a doubleheader against Maryland and Radford on March 2 during the final day of the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando

·         Slugged a grand slam March 22 during Florida’s win over Alabama

·         Provided the winning runs on April 9 at Florida State with a two-run pinch-hit home run off All-American Lacey Waldrop

·         Knocked three of her six doubles on the season during the NCAA Tournament (May 17 vs. Stetson, May 28 vs. Baylor, June 3 vs. Alabama)

·         Batted a team-best .556 (5x9) during the Gators’ five games at the Women’s College World Series

·         Had three hits (3x4) with two runs scored, a home run and two RBI on May 30 as Florida defeated No. 1 seed Oregon to stay in the winner’s bracket at the WCWS

·         Tied for the team lead (Schwarz) with 13 hit-by-pitches

·         Showed improved patience at the plate, as her 44 walks were more than she drew during her first two years combined (40)

·         Earned a career-best four free passes on two occasions (March 26 at UCF, March 30 at Tennessee)

·         Played well defensively as she was perfect on 30 chances in the outfield, including a career-best four putouts in the WCWS finale against the Crimson Tide

 

As a Sophomore (2013):

·         61 games / 25 starts

·         Two pinch hit grand slams

·         Owned two of UF’s 11 grand slams – vs. Arizona (Feb. 10, Kajikawa Classic, Tempe, Ariz.) and at Auburn (March 8)

·         Drew 24 walks

·         Two multi-hit games Five multi-RBI games

·         Four-game hit streak, eight-game reached-base streak

·         One game-winning RBI

·         Had a career-tying four at-bats twice (UNC Wilmington and Charleston Southern)

·         Went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, a career-tying two homers and a walk March 2 vs. FAMU

·         Had an RBI vs. Nebraska at WCWS in the school-record 15-inning game

·         Multi-RBI contests vs. Arizona (4), Auburn (4) and USC Upstate (2)

·         Multi-hit games vs. FAMU and UNC-Wilmington

·         Hit .500 (3x6) in the postseason as a whole, including the SEC Tournament

 

As a Freshman (2012):

·         SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll

·         School-record tying seven RBI vs. Ole Miss April 8, where she hit two homers in one inning – the first Gator to do so since Megan Bush in 2010

o    Smashed one of UF’s three grand slams on the season, along with a two-run shot, in the third inning

o    Walked in her seventh RBI of the game in the fourth inning

o    Two homers in one game – let alone one inning – also tied a school record

o    Castro’s seven RBI were the most in a game for a single player in the SEC in 2012

·         Pinch-hit home run in extra innings (8th) vs. Tennessee in SEC semifinals that gave Tim Walton his 500th career victory

·         One of just 14 players in the SEC to hit a grand slam

·         Ranked fifth on the team in RBI

·         Four multi-hit games

·         Four multi-RBI games

·         Season-long four-game hit streak from March 25-31

·         Nine-game reached-base streak

·         15 RBI in 26 SEC games, ranking fourth among freshmen in league play

·         Second among SEC freshmen in home runs, with five in conference play

·         First three career RBI as a Gator came March 2 vs. Eastern Michigan when she cleared the bases on a three-run single

·         Four multi-hit games: USF (March 28), Ole Miss (April 6 and 8) and FGCU (May 19, NCAA Regional)

·         16 homers her senior season, with 22 RBI and a .618 batting clip, leading American Heritage to a 26-1 record and a No. 4 MaxPreps ranking

·         Helped lead the Patriots to back-to-back state championships her freshman and sophomore seasons in 2008 and 2009

·         Two-time Sun Sentinel Player of the Year

·         Had 44 RBI, 30 runs and 12 home runs her junior season with a .612 batting clip
