Career Highlights:

Became the second Florida pitcher ever to start her career with 10 wins without suffering a loss (2010)…First career homer as a Gator was a grand slam against Ball State (2011)

 

 

As a Junior (2012): Played in 60 games her junior season in 2012, starting 46 of those contests, primarily in the outfield and as the designated player…Named to the 2012 SEC Academic Honor Roll for her work in the classroom…Tallied three multiple-hit games, three multi-RBI games and had a season-long hit streak of three games…Reached base in 15-straight games from March 7- April 6, 2012, the fourth-longest reached base streak for a Gator on the team…Six of her eight career homers came in 2012, also had a career-best 19 RBI, 28 hits and five doubles…Two of her six bombs were back-to-back games the same day against BYU and Texas in the Cathedral City Classic in California Feb. 24…Went opposite field April 24 in the first game of a doubleheader with LSU with two outs and two strikes against her for her sixth homer of the season, marking the game-tying run, in the bottom of the seventh to force extras, ultimately resulting in a 2-1, eight-inning Florida victory…Knocked her fifth homer of the season - a leadoff bomb - to break a 1-1 tie between the Gators and Florida International in the series finale...UF went on to score six runs in the inning, sparked by Gammel’s homer, for a 7-1 victory…Had 12 hits in the month of March alone to lead her junior season and was a season-best 2-for-3 in three contests, March 2 versus Gardner-Webb in UF’s home tournament, March 24 at Arkansas as Florida clinched the series in Fayetteville and versus Auburn April 13 in the series opener at home.

 

As a Sophomore (2011): Played in 46 games, with 26 starts her sophomore season, primarily as the designated player…Made 10 appearances in the circle for Florida, including three starts as UF’s hurler…Fanned 18 batters throughout the season…Connected for the first two homers of her UF career in 2011, with her first a grand slam against Ball State, a game accumulated a career-best five RBI…Also connected for a three-run bomb in the first of two games against Alabama in UF’s fourth-straight Women’s College World Series…Eight of her 13 hits in 2011 came in the NCAA Tournament, with a season-best two against Missouri in the WCWS opener…Was perfect at the plate in 2011 in back-to-back games against LSU and Connecticut in the USF Under Armour Showcase…Was a threat on the base paths, swiping 9-for-10, ranking fourth for the Gators in stolen bases … Had two multi-hit games versus UConn and Missouri and three multiple-RBI games against UConn, Ball State and Alabama in the WCWS…For the fifth time in her Gator career, worked a complete seven-inning effort against Georgia in the circle…Her 18 Ks on the year brought her career total to 100 through 135.0 innings pitched.

 

As a Freshman (2010): Appeared in 29 games for the Gators her freshman season, including 28 appearances in the circle and tallied 20 starts … Saw action for the Gators her freshman campaign at the 2010 Women’s College World Series against UCLA and as a pinch runner against Missouri … Earned first career win in 5.2 innings of work over East Carolina on Feb. 13 while striking out seven and only allowing three earned runs ... Had a hit in first career at-bat against Northwestern St. on Feb. 27 ... Allowed only one run and five hits while striking out five South Carolina batters in the complete-game 6-1 win on May 8… Earned the win in the shutout of North Florida on May 5 in a five-inning complete game, allowing only three hits, one walk and struck out five ... Earned the win in the five-inning defeat of Mississippi State on May 1 in the second game of a doubleheader, only giving up two hits, one earned run, three walks and tied a career-high nine strikeouts ... Earned a save against Kentucky in the first game of a doubleheader on April 17 in 1.2 innings of work while not giving up hits, runs or walks ... First career loss came in the second game of the UK doubleheader April 17 … Earned 10th win in second game against FSU in a complete game while allowing eight hits, two runs, two walks and striking out two ... Scored a career-high two runs in the first game of a doubleheader against No. 19/16 Florida State on April 14 while going 1-for-2, with a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases ... Also earned a save, allowing one hit, no runs or walks in 1.2 innings of work ... Tallied the win against the Razorbacks in the second game of the doubleheader, going four innings, allowing only two hits and one walk, while striking out one and not allowing a run ... Picked up the win in the series finale against the Hogs on April 11, pitching 2.2 innings of relief, allowing only one hit, no runs  or walks and striking out three ... Earned second save in 2.2 innings of relief against Arkansas on April 10, giving up five hits, one earned run and one walk ... Pitched a complete-game, two-hitter with one unearned run, one walk and three strikeouts in the 2-1 win over No. 12 LSU on April 3, also scoring the tying run after reaching with a hit in only at bat ...  Pitched four innings of relief against the Tigers, allowing one unearned run and striking out two on April 4 ... Started the same game as the designated player and went 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI ... Named the SEC Pitcher of the Week and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week for her performance against LSU ... Earned the win in four innings of relief work against UCF on March 31, allowing only one hit , no runs and additionally scored the tying run as a pinch runner in the seventh inning ... Came in relief in the series finale versus Alabama on March 28 to earn the win, pitching 1.2 innings, allowing two hits, one run, no walks and struck out one ... Started second game against Auburn on March 17 and earned the win, allowing four hits, four runs, three walks and striking out five ... Tallied a career-high nine strikeouts while allowing just two runs, four walks and six hits over five innings in the second game against Ole Miss on March 13 ... Earned first career save while pitching two innings, striking out three, walking only one and giving up just one hit in the series finale against Ole Miss on March 14 ... Struck out four while not allowing a walk and giving up only two hits and one run in the five-inning win over Loyola Marymount on March 7.

 

High School / Travel Ball: A 2009 graduate of Centennial High School in Bakersfield, Calif.…Recorded 51 shutouts, 20 no-hitters and nine perfect games in high school career…Team was Southwest Yosemite League runner-up and a semifinalist in the Central Section Division in 2009…In 2008, team was league and division champions and had an undefeated season…Named to all-league first team all four years and all-county first team in 2007-09…Name the team MVP from 2007-09…Earned the Kern County Player of the Year and ESPN Cal Hi Sports First-Team All-State Pitcher in 2008…The Californian’s All-Area Player of the Year in 2008…Also played for the Worth Firecrackers from 2007-09…Coached by Tony Rico…Team was the 2007 Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) 18-and-Under Gold National Champions and placed third in 2008 and 2009…Also the Colorado Fireworks Champions and Canada Cup Champions in 2007 and 2009…Was on the honor roll and principal’s list all four years.
