Career Highlights:

First collegiate hit was a home run (2010 vs. Campbell Feb. 19)…Had two homers against Tennessee State in 2012, including a grand slam, to tie a UF record for homers in a game and struck again for two homers as UF avoided elimination against FGCU May 19 in the 2012 NCAA Gainesville Regional.

 

 

As a Junior (2012): A 2012 Capital One Academic All-American…Named to the 2012 NFCA All-Southeast Region Second Team as UF’s catcher…A SEC Community Service Team honoree…Picked up All-SEC Second Team accolades at catcher her junior season…Played in and started 59 games for the gators in 2012…Led UF and the SEC in doubles through league play, with seven, and ranked second on the season for the Gators with nine…Smashed a total of 13 homers in 2012, ranking second for Florida, while her .645 slugging percentage ranked first for UF on the year…Blasted her first career grand slam against Tennessee State – was one of 14 players in the SEC to have a grand slam in 2012 – and finished the game against TSU with a school-record tying two home runs in the contest, which led to a career-high five RBI for Horton in the game…Strung together a seven-game RBI streak from Feb. 25 to March 4, 20120, accounting for 15 RBI in the span, nearly a third of her season total…Ranked sixth in the SEC in slugging percentage (.645) and seventh in homers (13)…Was third for the Gators with a .329 batting clip, tossed out 12 runners on the base paths as UF’s primary catcher her junior season…Had 12 multi-hit and multiple-RBI games for the Gators, ranking second for the Orange and Blue in multiple-RBI contests…Had a career-best outing at Florida State, going 3-for-4 with two extra-base hits (double and homer) to account for three RBI...Helped the Gators avoid elimination in the 2012 NCAA Gainesville Regional with a 3-for-3, two run, three RBI performance against FGCU May 19…Strung together a career-tying six-game hit streak twice during her junior season, to open the year Feb. 10 through Feb. 15, and then again March 2 to March 7…Had at least one hit in each game of the NCAA Gainesville Regional to lead the Orange and Blue with a .600 batting clip (6-for-10) and a .714 on-base percentage.

 

As a Sophomore (2011): Played in 52 games for the Gators with 41 starts her sophomore season in 2011, helping lead the Gators to their fourth-consecutive Women’s College World Series appearance and their second Championship Series…Had five multiple-hit games on the year, with two-hit games against Pacific, Ole Miss, Auburn and Tennessee, while connecting for a season-best three hits in a perfect 3-for-3 performance versus Georgia…Had six games where she drove in multiple RBI, including three on four different occasions…Was one of just two Gators to record a perfect fielding percentage for the Gators in 2011, playing both in the outfield and behind the plate, as well as serving as the designated player in over half of UF’s games…Surpassed her freshman-year totals in at-bats, hits, RBI, walks, putouts and assists…Home runs came against FGCU, North Carolina, NDSU, Pacific, Robert Morris, Auburn and Tennessee…Had a total of nine extra-base hits with doubles against Ole Miss and Georgia to contribute to her 31 overall hits...Career-high 11 putouts came versus Robert Morris behind the plate at catcher…Had one hit in the 2011 NCAA Tournament for the Gators, going 1-for-3 versus Bethune-Cookman in the Gainesville Regional.

 

As a Freshman (2010): Saw action in 31 games her freshman year as a Gator, including 11 game starts as the designated player…Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team...Tallied five homers in a span of nine games at the end of the regular season, recording 11 hits and 13 RBI…Racked up six multi-RBI games and three multi-hit games her inaugural year with UF…Played in the 2010 Women’s College World Series her freshman season, seeing action against both UCLA and Missouri…Hit a double and tallied two RBIs against Bethune-Cookman in the Gainesville Regional on May 21…Smashed a three-run homer while going 2-for-3 in the SEC Tournament game against Auburn on May 13 ... Hit a home run and drew two walks against the Gamecocks on May 9...Scored a career-high three runs in a career-high four at-bats in the 20-0 victory over South Carolina on May 8...Hit a three-run homer as a pinch hitter in the 22-0 defeat of North Florida on May 5..In the second game of the doubleheader versus the Ospreys, went 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBIs...Started as the designed player in both games of the doubleheader with No. 17/18 Tennessee on April 23...Recorded second home run, a solo shot, against Kentucky in the first game of a doubleheader on April 17...Hit another solo homer in the third game of the series against Kentucky on April 18...Earned first career start as the designed player against Loyola Marymount on March 7, going 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a run scored...Tallied a two-RBI double in the win over UC Davis on March 7...The first hit of collegiate career was a home run against Campbell on Feb. 19...Recorded first at bat as a Gator as a pinch hitter in the win over East Carolina on Feb. 13.

 

High School / Travel Ball: A 2009 graduate of Durant High School in Plant City, Fla….Team was district champions for three years and was in the Class 6A Championship game in 2008…Set school records for hits and home runs in a season…Earned all-state honors as a junior…Also played for the Gold Coast Hurricanes, coached by Marty Cooper…Team was the 2008 Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) 18-and-Under Gold Nationals Champions and runner-up in 2009…Also was captain of the volleyball team in 2009…An All-Academic Athlete in volleyball and softball for three years.
