Career Honors: Recorded the first stolen base in a Southeastern Conference game as she stole second in the fifth inning against Arkansas.

As a Freshman (1997): Alternated at second base most of the season ... Came on in the latter part of the season, batting .233 in conference games ... Quick, slapping style batter ... Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in the first game of the Arkansas double header.

High School: Named All-Central Louisiana Player of the Year in 1995 and 1996 ... Earned all-state honors from 1994-96 and all district honors all four years ... NSCA All-American in 1994-96 ... Sacred Heart team won the state championships in 1994 and 1996 ... Earned four varsity letters each in basketball, track, cross country and softball and one in tennis.

Personal: Born November 11, 1978 in Opelousas, La. ... daughter of Dr. William and Joanne Ward ... 1996 graduate of Sacred Heart High School ... Member of National Honor Society and a Girls State delegate.
