Life Skills Seminars & Workshops

The University Athletic Association (UAA) invites top speakers from around the country to speak to student-athletes about personal and social issues. Coaches and student-athletes have the opportunity to select seminars on a topic of their choice. Professionals with expertise on specific topics facilitate all seminars and workshops offered by the UAA. The seminars allow student-athletes to join together and discuss issues relative to their personal and professional development. Workshops include, but are not limited to the following:

Life Skills Cup

The Life Skills Cup is an annual award given to the team who earned the most Life Skills points during the school year. Points are given to teams based on their community service, attendance at personal development events, and participation in leadership development activities. Winners are announced at The Florida Letterman Awards in the spring.

The New Point System

  • 50 points for attending a workshop/ speaker/ 1 volunteer hour
  • 20 points for attending SAAC or Gator Grind meetings
  • 1-5 points for attending Adopt-A-Team events or other activities as they arise

Top Three Women’s Teams: Softball, Gymnastics, Volleyball
