STARKE, Fla. -- A very busy day has begun for the Florida basketball team as the Gators embark on their once-in-a-lifetime adventure that will culminate with Friday night’s game against Georgetown on the USS Bataan at Naval Station Mayport.

I’ll be with the team for the better part of the day, so stay with GatorZone.com and follow me @GatorZoneChris for live update at Tweet pics on Twitter.

The Gators reported to the basketball complex before 8 a.m. The bus for the base pulled out at 8:30 and is due to arrive at the Mayport gate around 10:15.

The rest of Thursday -- and it’s a busy one that includes two practices -- looks like this:

10:30 a.m.:  Tour of the USS Bataan

11:15 a.m.: Press conference with Naval officials and Georgetown on USS Bataan

11:50 a.m.: Lunch aboard ship

12:30 p.m.: Depart Bataan for team hotel in Atlantic Beach.

1:45 p.m.: Snack at hotel

3 p.m.: Closed practice at Providence Christian School

5:30 p.m.: Open practice at USS Bataan

7:45 p.m.: Dinner at team hotel

Somewhere around 10 or 11 (or should I say, "2200 or 2300 hours?"), the players will be in their rooms and ready to crash.
