Bobby Dodd brought his powerful Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to Gainesville and dismantled the Gators 27-0.
Tech marched down the field for a TD on the opening drive, then marched on that season -- led by All-America tailback Leon Hardeman -- to go and 11-0-1.
That record was good enough for a share the Southeastern Conference title with Tennessee and an eventual No. 5 ranking in the season's final poll.
