GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Gator fans driving in the Northeast section of town Tuesday morning may have gotten a rude awakening when they saw a new billboard at the intersection of 13th Street and 53rd Avenue.

React how you'd like -- just don't blame Texas A&M.

The Aggies are not responsible and are taking appropriate actions while probing the use of their institutional trademarks, said Jason Cook, vice president of marketing and communications at Texas A&M.

“This billboard was not placed by Texas A&M University, and it is certainly not reflective of how we have handled our transition into the SEC," Cook said Tuesday.  "We are investigating aggressively, as we believe that our institutional trademarks have been infringed upon. Texas A&M has tremendous respect for the University of Florida, and we look forward to hosting the Gators in our first SEC football game this weekend.”
