Volunteer Assistant Coach Jeremy Miranda provides his innovative and artistic touch to the Gator gymnastics routines again this season. Miranda oversees all creative aspects musically and choreographically for the Gator floor routines.
Prior to joining the Gator program in the summer of 2007, Miranda worked with the University of Nebraska women’s gymnastics team for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. His choreography and assistance to the coaching staff helped the Huskers to the Super Six Championship both seasons. In addition, Miranda also served as club coach for the Nebraska School of Gymnastics from 2005-07, coaching classes ranging from preschool to elite.
Miranda also spent several summers as master staff instructor at the world-renowned Woodward Gymnastics Camp in Woodward, Pa. Additionally, Miranda has served on the coaching staff at multiple summer camps and clinics across the country.
A notable gymnast in his own right, Miranda was a level 10 gymnast who culminated his gymnastics career with a co-national championship finish on the floor exercise at Junior Olympic Nationals in 2005, as well as an eighth-place finish on the vault.
A native of Chamberlain, S.D., Miranda received his bachelor's degree in Dance Performance from the University of Florida in the summer of 2010. He currently dances and choreographs professionally in New York City and has appeared in many live stage productions such as CATS, A Chorus Line and West Side Story as well as TV appearances on Gossip Girl and SMASH. He most recently served as dance captain for Norwegian Cruise Lines touring worldwide.
Miranda has one sister, Jennifer (24), and one brother, Joshua (22). His mother, Bernie, works as the head Postmaster in Oacoma, S.D., and his father, Tom, is a professional hunter featured regularly on ESPN Outdoors.
