Heidi Stanovich
Volunteer Assistant Coach

Heidi Stanovich is in her third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Gator program. Stanovich draws from her wealth of experience as a top gymnast at both the U.S. National and collegiate levels.

Stanovich was a member of the U.S. Senior National Team in 1978 and '79. She represented the U.S. at the 1979 World Championships and claimed the 1979 Pan American Games' silver medal in the floor exercise. Stanovich also was the 1979 USAG Elite National champion in both the floor exercise and balance beam.

As a collegiate, Stanovich claimed the 1981 AIAW floor exercise crown at Penn State. She transferred to Oregon State for the 1983 season and won the 1984 NCAA balance beam title.

Stanovich has been coaching gymnastics since 1991. She has coached at several club programs, including two years at Karon's Gymnastics in Burke, Va. Two gymnasts under her tutelage have reached the USA Championship meet and one made the U.S. National Team.

She received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Oregon State in 1985.

The former Heidi Anderson is married to UF Assistant Coach Milan Stanovich and they are the parents of Scott Milan (2) and Robert Max, who was born Feb. 16, 2001.
