What they’re saying…

“I didn’t expect him to do so well because he hasn’t played the position, but Pop is doing good. People that move to new positions like Pop, he might not know everything. I might know a little more than him so to help him out and give him the edge, I might teach him different things he wouldn’t know. Situations like that I can help him with things he wouldn’t know, like extra things, a call, a route a receiver might run.” (8/31/11)

Matt Elam, UF safety

“I think he has in the intangibles as far as the instinct to play in the deep part of the field, tackling ability, coverage ability, playing the ball and a guy that I’m excited about playing for the Gators.” (8/29/11)

Will Muschamp, UF Head Coach

“He’s going to be a good football player for the Gators. This guy’s got a lot of ability. For a guy that hasn’t played a lot of corner in his life, he’s got some natural instincts on the back end. He’s got the critical factors of being a good defensive back: toughness, he can play the ball down the field, he can play with range, he can cover man, he’s got zone instincts. He’s got all the attributes you want at that position.” (4/5/11)

Will Muschamp, UF Head Coach

“Pop Saunders played quarterback in high school.  I really like recruiting defensive backs that have played quarterback because they have to make critical decisions.  And the critical decisions you make on the back end sometimes can cost you a football game.  I like the fact this guy has had to make decisions with the ball in his hands, and I really like his athleticism in the few days we've been able to watch the workouts.” (2/2/11)

Will Muschamp, UF Head Coach
