CAREER: Has played in one game (2007 vs. Florida Atlantic) and dressed for six games in his career.


2008: Dressed for Florida’s games against Alabama in the 2008 SEC Championship Game and Oklahoma in the 2009 FedEx BCS National Championship Game, but did not see playing time during the season.


2007: Made first career appearance during the Florida Atlantic game and dressed for all but three games (Western Kentucky, Troy, Georgia).


2006: Was named as one of the Scout Team Players of the Week following the preparations for Western Carolina and Florida State…Dressed for the win over UCF and the season opener against Southern Miss but did not play.


PREP: Four-year starter on the offensive line at Berkeley Preparatory School…A top-30 prospect by…Helped the Buccaneers average 300-plus yards of offense per game…Team captain as a senior…Has a background in weightlifting…Selected Florida over 34 other Division I scholarship offers.


PERSONAL: Born James Glen Barrie IV on March 30, 1988, in Tampa, Fla…Son of Jim and Kathleen Barrie…Has two sisters, Kristin and Jamie…Both sisters and his mother attended UF…Was denied the chance to play youth football when he was seven due to his overwhelming size compared to other 7-year-olds…Started playing football in sixth grade.


MAJOR: Political Science.
