What They're Saying About REYNALDO HILL

"During full-speed drills against the offense, Hill was unshakable in man-to-man coverage. Receivers couldn't get away from his suffocating coverage and he also intercepted a pass and broke up several others. He clearly was the defensive standout of the day. Hill showed Thursday that he's one of UF's fastest and most explosive defensive backs and a guy who appears ready to compete for a starting role." (August 7, 2003)
Robbie Andreu, Gainesville Sun

"He wants to play against the big boys and play for the best. When you're recruiting a junior college kid, you're not recruiting him to sit on the bench, you're recruiting him to play. Reynaldo has good size and great speed. He's a prototypical NFL corner because he is 6-1 with long arms." (February 14, 2003)

"He's a cover corner, he's a lock-down guy. You put him on the big-time target, the guy they want to throw to, and just let him take care of that. He's sort of a Deion Sanders type, except Reynaldo will come up and tackle you. He will tackle you. He thinks he's a hitter. He's not afraid to hit. He's got that mentality. He wants to hit people." (April 10, 2003)
Andy Siegal, Dodge City CC Assistant Coach

"His name is Reynaldo Hill. Opponents don't know who he is yet, and his next practice at Florida will be his first, but he may hold the key for everything the Gators want to accomplish on offense and defense. You read that right. Really. Hill runs a 4.38 40. He is big for a cornerback at 6-1, 200. He broke up 22 passes and had three interceptions as a sophomore at Dodge City CC last year, becoming one of the top two defensive back prospects in junior college ball. On paper, this native of Fort Lauderdale has the potential to be a lockdown cornerback on a team that desperately needs sensational play from its secondary." (2003 Gator Bait Preview)

"The next time Hill gets beaten deep will be the first time." (August 19, 2003)
Guerry Smith, GatorBait magazine

"I am very pleased with Reynaldo [Hill]. He's got great movement and speed, he asks a lot of questions. He's going to play a lot of football." (August 10 ,2003)

"Reynaldo's got the tools, and he's got the speed. He's explosive enough to return kicks and punts when he's healthy. We knew what he could do when we watched the film." (August 25, 2003)
Mike Woodford, Former UF Secondary Coach

"One of the reasons I wanted to sign Reynaldo Hill was in the back of my mind (it could determine) how much Keiwan would be able to play on offense. If Reynaldo Hill comes in here and does what I think he can do, it allows you to have Keiwan take some series off on defense and be used on offense a little bit more. Reynaldo Hill has run under a 10.5 (100 meters). That's fast. That's really fast." (2003 Gator Bait Preview)

"Reynaldo Hill really wants to be at Florida. I could see that during the recruiting process. If you know anything about what this kid went through to be here -- I mean, I enjoy being around people who are appreciative of what this place is all about. I like people who don't expect things to be given to them." (August 25, 2003)

"I really like Reynaldo Hill's attitude. Reynaldo probably should have taken some time off to rest that injury, but he wanted to go. That's why when we get out here in 'The Swamp' and the game is on the line, he's a guy who's going to play. I know he's going to lay it on the line for the University of Florida." (August 25, 2003)
Ron Zook, Former UF Head Coach
