A redshirt senior who played both guard and tackle...Received his degree in December...Started in all 12 games (two at right OT vs. Ball State and Kentucky and ten at right OG vs. Middle Tennessee, Tennessee, Mississippi State, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Florida State and SEC Championship Game vs. Auburn) ...832 snaps was second most on squad and top for an offensive linemen...One of only five players on team to start all 12 games...Also started the Sugar Bowl...Received UF's Offensive Best Effort Award for the 2000 season...Co-recipient of offensive unit's 1999 Everyday Award at the conclusion of spring drills

1999 Season
A backup at tackle... Played in five games (Western Michigan, UCF, Kentucky, South Carolina and Alabama (SEC Championship Game)) for 84 plays... Also played in Citrus Bowl... Moved from guard to tackle during fall drills... Co-recipient of UF's Everyday Award on offense during spring.

1998 Season
Saw action in three regular season games (The Citadel, Northeast Louisiana and Kentucky) for 58 plays as a backup at guard.

Prior To UF
Attended Notre Dame from August of 1996 to September of 1997... Did not see any game action as a freshman offensive lineman in 1996.

Played for coach Joe Kinnan at Manatee... Named first-team All-State as a senior and third-team All-State as a junior... Named to Super Southern 100 by Atlanta Journal-Constitution... Did not allow a sack during his senior year... Captain of football team as a senior in 1995... A three-year letterwinner in both football and power lifting.

Born Leon Edward Hires III on December 6, 1977 in LaGrange, Georgia... Parent: Sandy Olsen... One of five children... Enjoys fishing and hunting... Favorite sports personality is Warren Sapp...
