If you car has been towed there are some facts you need to know.

• Locate tow-away sign.
• Signs have the name and number of towing company.
• Contact the tow company.
• Verify the location & method of payment.
• $76 is the MAX. penalty if you pick up the car within 24 hours.
• If not picked up in 24 hours you will be charged additional fees.
• If your car is hooked up to the tow truck and still at the location of tow away, you are only responsible for half the fees.
• If your car was towed improperly you can contest the tow by contacting the Gainesville Police Department online at www.gainesvillepd.org or call at (352) 334-2400.

Driver's Responsibility

• Never park on any property unless you have paid the parking fee or you have legitimate business there.
• Do not park in reserved spaces regardless of the day or time.
• Do not assume you can park for free on holidays or weekends.
• If you fail to pay the towing fee before removing your vehicle from the yard, you will be arrested.
