2012: Garnered two SEC Runner of the Week accolades her freshman year as a Gator…Was the Sept. 4, 2012 SEC Women’s Runner of the Week and the Sept. 18, 2012 Women’s Freshman Runner of the Week…Competed in four XC competitions her first year on campus in 2012…Was the first UF runner since Gator great and 2012 Australian Olympian Genevieve LaCaze (2008) to win her first race as a freshman donning the Orange and Blue as she won the Western Carolina Invite two-mile race…Scored third for UF at the Mountain Dew Invitational with a collegiate-best 5K (17:32.01)…Scored seventh for the Gators at Pre-Nats and helped lead UF to the 2012 SEC Championship in Nashville, scoring eighth with her best 6K mark of the season (22:03.55) to pick up SEC All-Freshman accolades.
Prep: A distance runner from the Charter School of Wilmington in Wilmington, Del. …Is the reigning DIAA State Champion in cross country and holds personal bests of 4:59.79 (1600), 10:34.70 (3200) and 16:53.00 (5K) entering her collegiate tenure at UF…Macedo is a three-time DIAA State Champion in cross country and has 12 total victories under her belt, most recently wrapping up her final XC season with her third state title after clocking a 17:28.93 Nov. 12, 2011.
