Prep: Coached by Kelly Williams and Ronnie Brown … Named the 2008-09 Georgia Gatorade Cross Country Athlete of the Year … Won the individual title at the cross country state championship as a junior … Team won the 2006 and 2007 cross country state championship … Also the track and field state championship in 2008 … Three-time Atlanta Track Club Cross Country Man of the Year (2006-08) and the Atlanta Track Club Track Man of the Year award winner in 2008 … U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award recipient in 2009 … Received the Herman J. Stegeman Trophy for being a state finalist in track and field in 2008 … Holds the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior class records for the 5K and 3,200 events and  helped set the 4x800m and 4x1,600m relay records at Chapel Hill High School … Competed at the Footlocker South regional Championships freshman, junior and senior years of high school.
