A nice crowd turned out and the event was live streamed on the Internet. Check back for a story on GatorZone.com later.

For now, let’s take a look at what others are writing about Florida’s first national championship in softball:

--Finally, Florida Finishes First writes Graham Hays of ESPNW.com.

--‘Making their coach look good’ is the headline on this story by Roger Moore of NCAA.com.

--Rogers That: Florida softball wins national title writes Jordan McPherson of the Independent Florida Alligator.

--‘Former Shocker coach Tim Walton wins national softball title with Florida’ is headline in The Wichita (Kan.) Eagle.

--Gators sweep Crimson Tide for first softball title writes Tommy Deas in The Gainesville Sun.

--Analysts, average fans and just about anyone with an eye on the Women’s College World Series thought Florida coach Tim Walton had lost his mind writes Scott Wright of The Oklahoman.

--For an Alabama perspective, here is a story from the Birmingham News.
