KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Florida-Tennessee game is a little more than an hour from kickoff here at Neyland Stadium.
As you can see in the photo, shadows are creeping across the field as the sun starts to fade.
After more than 24 hours in Knoxville, I can tell you Vols fans are pumped for this game. They are confident this is finally Tennessee's year to snap the Gators' seven-game win streak in the series.
Personally, I expect a close game. As I wrote earlier this week, if the game turns into a shootout, that would seem to favor the Vols and veteran quarterback Tyler Gray. The Gators want to play old-school smashmouth football and set the tone defensively.
This is a big game for both head coaches. In his third season at Tennessee, Derek Dooley is 0-10 against ranked opponents. Florida coach Will Muschamp is 0-5 against ranked opponents, so something's gotta give tonight.
With both programs trying to restore their place at the top of the SEC East, the winner will take a step toward that destination.
Tennessee has been on the field warming up for a while; Florida is just now running onto the field to work in position groups.
