2015 Gator Baseball PRE-SEASON Prospect Camp

Once again The University of Florida baseball program is pleased to offer our PRE-SEASON instructional baseball camps. The camps focus on the same basic fundamental skills and mechanics in regards to hitting, pitching, and defensive skills that help prepare the Gators for the toughest conference in college baseball.

 

PITCHING / CATCHING SESSION

January 11, 2015
10:30am – 12:30pm

Ages
This session of the camp is designed for HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECTS graduating from 2015-2018. The session will consists of pitching instruction, in the areas of pitching mechanics, bullpen work, arm care, holding runners, and PFP fundamentals. Catchers will be instructed in the areas of receiving, blocking, throwing mechanics, as well as other fundamentals unique to the catching position. Catchers will catch live bullpens and be instructed throughout.

Cost
The cost of the session is $75. A Gator Baseball t-shirt is given to every camper.

*One shirt per camper per day*

Check-In
Check-in takes place 9:45 – 10:15 am. You must have all paperwork at this time, or the camper will not be able to participate.

 

DEFENSIVE INFIELD/ OUTFIELD SESSION

January 11, 2015
1:15pm – 3:15pm

Ages
This session of the camp is designed for HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECTS graduating from 2015-2018. The session will consist of infield and outfield instruction. This instruction will cover all the fundamentals and drills used by the Gator baseball SEC Championship team.

Cost
The cost of the camps is $75. A Gator Baseball t-shirt is given to every camper.

*One shirt per camper per day*

Check-In
Check-in takes place 12:30 – 1:00 pm. You must have all paperwork at this time, or the camper will not be able to participate.

 

HITTING SESSION

January 11, 2015
4:00 pm – 6:00pm

Ages
This session of the camp is designed for HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECTS graduating from 2015-2018. The session will consists of offensive instruction, in the areas of hitting mechanics, bunting, and base running. Hitters will take batting practice in the cage and on the field. They will be instructed by current Gator Baseball Staff and Players.

Cost
The cost of the camps is $75. A Gator Baseball t-shirt is given to every camper.

*One shirt per camper per day*

Check-In
Check-in takes place 3:15 – 3:45 pm. You must have all paperwork at this time, or the camper will not be able to participate.

 

CAMP DISCOUNT
Any HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECT attending TWO of the Pre-Season Camp sessions will receive the THIRD session for FREE. The cost totaling all three sessions is $150.

REGISTRATION
Registrations are being accepted online.

Please note that per UAA policy that only cash, money order or certified check (no personal checks) will be accepted on day of registration.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

There is a $50.00 nonrefundable deposit. Each camp has a cut-off date in which there will be no refunds.

No refunds after Friday, January 9th

WHAT TO BRING
Baseball glove, batting gloves, bat, baseball shoes, turf/tennis shoes, baseball pants, lunch/snacks, catchers gear. (We do not provide catching gear for the camp.)

***PLEASE NOTE THAT LUNCH IS NOT PROVIDED. CAMPERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR OWN LUNCH OR HAVE A PARENT PROVIDE IT FOR THEM.***

MEDICAL INSURANCE
The Camp carries an EXCESS medical insurance policy to cover medical expenses for injuries/accidents, which occur in the course of the camps activities. Medical expenses which are declined payment through the participant's personal insurance and/or through the excess policy become the responsibility of the participant's parents/ guardians. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE TO PARTICIPATE.

UF Youth Protection Training for Summer Camps

Per NCAA rules, all sport camps and clinics conducted by The University of Florida Athletic Association are open to any and all entrants and enrollment is only limited based on age, grade level, gender, and/or number restrictions as specified by each camp.

  • All campers are required to provide a Waiver of liability/Hold Harmless Agreement.
  • All campers are required to provide a physician’s statement. A copy of a physical completed within one year prior to camp is acceptable in lieu of physician’s signature.
  • All campers are required to have medical insurance.

For camps occurring prior to May 1, 2015, UAA policy allows participation in overnight/resident camps only for campers currently in 9th grade or higher for the 2014-15 academic year. For camps occurring after May 1, 2015, UAA policy allows participation in overnight/resident camps only for campers that will be in 9th grade or higher for the 2015-16 academic year. Please refer to each sport's camp page for additional information
