Tyler Stuart enters his first season as the strength and conditioning coordinator at the University of Florida, joining the staff in June of 2012.
Stuart will oversee the physical development and conditioning of the women’s basketball, women’s tennis and women’s golf teams for the Gators.
The Anderson, S.C., native came to Gainesville after one year as the Director of Men’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning at Appalachian State University.
Before his tenure at Appalachian State, Stuart worked at Clemson University from August 2007 until July 2011, when he was the head women’s basketball strength and conditioning coach. He also served as the interim head basketball strength and conditioning coach for a two-month period in 2009.
Stuart worked as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach at Clemson from January 2007 until he began working with the women’s basketball program, spending time with the football, baseball, soccer and rowing teams for the Tigers.
During his time at Clemson, Stuart also worked with Preston Greene, who in 2012-13 enters his second season as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the Gators men’s basketball team.
Stuart is a 2007 graduate of Anderson University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise and sport science and a minor in chemistry. He has completed the course work required for a master’s degree at Clemson and needs only to pass a final exam to complete the program.
He has always been extremely active in sports, playing rugby in college after suiting up for everything from baseball to football and golf in high school.
