- John “J.B.” Barrett
Responsibilities: Oversees the health and wellness care of the women’s basketball team members; also will be the supervisor of the graduate assistant athletic trainer for UF’s women’s tennis team and oversee the management of the baseball and softball facility athletic training rooms.
Joined UF Staff: Aug. 16, 2004; 2011-12 was first year with basketball team; spent first seven years as the Athletic Trainer for UF’s baseball team
Prior to UF: Served as an assistant athletic trainer at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., from 1999-2004; although his primary responsibilities were providing coverage to the Bison men's basketball, women's crew, women's lacrosse and women's soccer programs, he assisted other staff members with student-athletes competing on 26 varsity teams at eight different venues on campus.

Behind the Stats: A couple of J.B.’s other professional experiences include being selected as a volunteer athletic trainer at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., and working as an athletic training intern with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. J.B. currently is a member of the Alachua Area Medical Reserve Corp.
