Lanita Bartley made an immediate impact during the 2010-11 season – her first of two with the Gators – as she led the team in assists (118, 3.5 pg), steals (61, 1.8 pg) and trips to the free throw line (132, 3.9 pg) … earned a spot on the 2012 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll ... a scoring point guard who brought experience to the position … spent her first two collegiate seasons playing in the Florida Junior College system for two years which was consistently the most competitive in the country … very crafty with the ball and used her body extremely well … quick, athletic player … had her tooth knocked out by teammate Jennifer George during a pickup game on July 18, 2011 … received her bachelor’s degree in sociology in May of 2012

Played in every game (68) during her two-year Gator career, earning 60 starting assignments … collected more offensive rebounds (160) than defensive (152) … UF’s leading scorer in a game 7 times, rebounder in 6 games and assists leader in 36 games … 27 double-figure scoring games … 2 double-figure rebounding games … 1 double-double

 

Senior Year (2011-12)

One of five Gators to appear in all 33 games … started 27 games … scored in every game except one … has more offensive rebounds (93) than defensive rebounds (75) … UF’s third-leading scorer (9.3 ppg) along with 5.1 rebounds (third most) and led the club in assists (3.2 apg) and steals (1.9 pg) … among SEC players, ranked No. 9 for offensive rebounding (2.8 pg), as well as No. 8 for assists (3.2 pg) and steals and No. 8 for assists/turnover ratio (1.2) … tied as UF’s second-leading rebounder (5.1 rpg) in SEC regular-season games … canned 15 points with four rebounds, three assists - which included her 100th of the year - and two steals in the upset win against No. 16/18 Ohio State in the NCAA First Round and followed with a 10-point, 7-rebound showing versus top-ranked and eventual champion Baylor in the next round ... huge performance in the upset win against No. 18/15 Georgia (Feb. 19), when she went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final eight seconds to secure the win and finish with 11 points, converting 9-of-10 overall from the stripe … posted the first double-double of her career with 17 points and eight rebounds with four assists against Ole Miss (Feb. 5), with eight of her rebounds coming on the offensive end … during UF’s three-game win streak in mid-February, averaged 15.3 points and a team-best 7.3 rebounds during that span, while connecting on 61.5 percent of her shots overall, including 7-of-12 three-pointers … during a four-game span from Jan. 29-Feb. 9, Bartley helped the Gators post a 3-1 record (the loss a double-overtime heartbreaker at Arkansas), while scoring a team-best 16.3 points and converting a sizzling 10-of-15 three-pointers (66.7%) … 8 of her double-figure scoring games have come since Jan. 29 (at Arkansas) … 16 of her 22 made three-pointers came since Jan. 29 (at Arkansas) … exploded for a career-high 28 points in the win against Charlotte (Nov. 26), when she made the most of her first-ever visit to New York, averaging 22.0 points and 8.0 rebounds, while hitting 16-of-17 free throws and leading the Gators to two wins and earning a spot on the Courtyard LaGuardia Turkey Classic All-Tournament Team …earned a spot on the 2012 SEC Academic Honor Roll ...  UF’s leading scorer in a game 5 times, rebounder in 3 games and assists leader in 17 games … 17 double-figure scoring games … 1 double-figure rebounding games … 1 double-double

 

Junior Year (2010-11)

Started at point guard for 33 of 35 total games … played in all 35 games, setting UF record for most played by a junior … only Gator to start each of the first 18 games … came off the bench for the first time at Georgia (Jan. 16) … only Gator who scored in every game … scored, collected at least one rebound and dished at least one assist in every game … IN LAST 3 GAMES: 10.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.3 assists pg, 55.6% FG (10-18) and 10-13 FT (76.9%) … UF’s third-leading scorer overall (8.1 ppg) and fourth-leading scorer in SEC games (8.4 ppg) … team leader in assists (118, 3.5 pg), steals (61, 1.8 pg) and trips to the free throw line (132, 3.9 pg) … tied for ninth in SEC league games for assists and seventh in conference games for free throw percentage and steals … dished her 100th assists of the season with her first of four in the upset win against No. 22 Georgia (Feb. 28) … in the three-point win against No. 22 Georgia (Feb. 27), hit one of two free throws on with 9.4 seconds remaining and ended the game’s scoring … helped UF earn its first win vs. Vanderbilt in Nashville since 2004 when she scored 15 points with six rebounds and a career-high seven assists and converted all four of her free throw attempts in the final 13.6 seconds of the game to seal the victory … exploded for a career-high 23 points leading UF to the win versus Mississippi State (Feb. 20), hitting 9-of-12 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free throw line with eight rebounds and taking team-high scoring honors for the first time in her career … scored a then-career-high 16 points against Vanderbilt (Feb. 6), as she hit 8-of-11 free throws, dishing three assists and collecting a game-high five steals … came up with a huge offensive rebound off a missed free throw in the win at Mississippi State (Jan. 30) and was able to work the clock and eventually was fouled with 37.1 seconds to go; she missed those two free throws, but connected on two with 21.7 seconds remaining that made it a two-possession game in the seven-point win; also during the game nailed a huge three-pointer (just her sixth of the season) and gave UF a 58-50 lead with 4:26 on the clock … scored five consecutive points during an 8-2 run midway thru the second half against Alabama (Jan. 27) that extended UF’s one-point lead to 54-47; also converted two free throws with 1:03 remaining that gave UF a seven-point lead in the six-point win … made the game-winning defensive play in the 65-63 win at South Carolina (Jan. 9), as she stole the inbound pass underneath UF’s basket and converted a three-point play with 16.7 seconds remaining for the game’s final scoring, contributing nine points on 3-of-4 shooting and 3-of-3 from the line, as well as three assists and two steals in 21 minutes … dished a career-high six assists with five rebounds in the win against Providence (Dec. 4) … ignited UF’s comeback win against Old Dominion, scoring six points in the final 5:03 remaining when the Gators ended the game on a 16-4 run and she finished with 10 points and a then-career-high four steals … snared a career-high 10 rebounds versus South Alabama (Nov. 26), with six on the offensive end … impressive Gator debut, scoring 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting and 4-of-4 from the free throw line to go along with four steals and four rebounds … scored first points in a Gator uniform on a slashing layup with 13 minutes remaining in the first half of the season-opening win against UCF … 10 double-figure scoring games (most recently 14 points vs. Tennessee, March 4)

 

Prior to UF (2008-10)

Spent her first two collegiate seasons at Santa Fe College located in Gainesville, Fla. … recognized to the 2010 WBCA State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team Honorable Mention for JC/CC and earned 2010 Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA) First Team All-State honors after guiding Santa Fe College to consecutive Mid-Florida Conference championships for the first time in more than 20 years … honored as the 2010 MFC Player of the Year, leading the league in scoring with 17.8 points, the fourth-highest in the state; also ranked fourth in the state for assists and fifth for steals … set the SFC record by converting 18 free throws against Florida State College-Jacksonville on Jan. 13, 2010, when she also established the new program standard with 22 attempts … during the 2009-10 campaign, Bartley continued her assault on the Saints’ record book, topping the chart for free throws made (186 in 28 games) and attempted (251 in 28 games), in addition to setting the program record for career free throws made (272) and attempted (363) … twice honored as the National Junior College Athletics Association Player of the Week twice, the first time coming on Jan. 6, 2010, four days after becoming the second player in SFC history to record a triple-double … on Jan. 2, 2010, Bartley totaled 23 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the win against Middle Georgia College, when she also collected seven steals in the game, just three shy of producing a quadruple-double … second double-double was against Florida State College-Jacksonville on Jan. 31, 2010, when she contributed a career-high 37 points, with 10 rebounds and 11 assists, after which came her second national weekly honor … SFC’s leader in scoring her sophomore campaign, averaging 17.8 ppg while totaling 498 in 28 games, as well as contributing team-bests of 5.3 assists (149 total), 3.3 steals (92 total) … collected 6.2 rebounds (174 total, 69 offensive), the second-highest average during the 2009-10 season … converted 74 percent from the free throw line and 43 percent overall (144-337), in addition to hitting 24-of-83 from the three-point arc … during her initial year at SFC, helped the Saints to a 22-6 overall record and win the Mid-Florida Conference for the first time since the 1984-85 season … averaged 10.9 points (250 total in 23 games), the fourth-highest mark on the squad, with 5.0 rebounds (166 total), 3.6 assists (83) and 2.0 steals (46) … averaged 77 percent from the free throw stripe (86-112) and 42 percent from the floor (81-193) … coached at SFC by Chanda Stebbins, a former Gator basketball and volleyball letterwinner.

 

High School

Graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville in June of 2008 … a nominee for the 2008 McDonald’s All-American Game … star member and captain of the flag football team, suiting up as quarterback, wide receiver and running back and earning All-Gateway Conference honors all three years she played … began her prep career at Sandalwood High School, where she attended and played from two years (2005, 2006), before transferring to Lee.
