Major: Recreation and Event Management


Kim Critton (CRIT-tun) is a tremendous jumper and leaper … very quick first step … a super athlete … 2008 Scholar-Baller award winner (one of eight Female Academic Momentum Award national winners, presented by The National Consortium for Academics and Sports) … earned 2006 Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor Roll accolades … 2007 SEC Community Service Team selection … will finish coursework and an internship and will receive a B.S. degree in Recreation, Parks & Tourism with a specialization in Recreation Event Management and a minor in Education in December of 2009


Senior Year (2008-09)

Appeared in 18 of the 32 games … scored in nine games ... averaged 5.2 minutes off the bench … saw action in both NCAA Tournament games, including seven minutes against Connecticut (March 24), when she collected one rebounds and dished one assist ... played the last two minutes against South Carolina (Feb. 22) in the final home game of her career ... against Vanderbilt (Feb. 12), scored two points from the free throw line, grabbed a pair of defensive rebounds, had one assist and one steal ... played an efficient six minutes at Alabama (Feb. 5), scoring three points, grabbing two rebounds, while blocking the second shot of her career ... played the final minute at Arkansas (Feb. 1), dishing one assist ... against Florida A&M (Dec. 12), played 16 minutes and scored a season-high six points, hitting 3-of-4 from the floor and tying a career-high with three rebounds … three games with double-figure minutes … played a season-long 18 minutes against Coppin State (Dec. 10) … Dbl Fig Scoring Games- 0 in 2008-09 & 1 in UF Career


Junior Year (2007-08)

One of five Gators who played in all 33 games … averaged 10.9 minutes off the bench, even seeing time at the ‘4’ position … scored in 20 games … grabbed at least one rebound in all but eight games … totaled 92 points, more than doubling her scoring total from 2006-07 (40) … in the season finale at N.C. State, tied a season-high with eight points, also netting eight at Arkansas on Jan. 20 and vs. Saint Louis on Dec. 22 … solid 15 minutes of action in the WNIT second-round win against Florida Gulf Coast (March 24), scoring five points on 2-of-3 shooting and tied her career-high of seven rebounds, while blocking in the first shot of her career ... collected 72 rebounds, with 39 coming on the offensive end … logged a season-high 25 minutes against Saint Louis … grabbed a career-high seven rebounds (five offensive) in the win over Robert Morris (Nov. 12).


Sophomore Year (2006-07)

Played in 26 of 31 games, averaging 7.8 minutes per outing … recognized as the team’s ‘Most Improved Player’ during the postseason banquet … played in 13 of 14 SEC games, averaging 7.1 minutes in those contests … found her way to the free throw line 39 times, ranking sixth on the team ... totaled 40 points and 37 rebounds ... scored six points in eight minutes in the game at Auburn (Feb. 22) after contributing just three points in the previous eight games combined ... led UF with six rebounds against Stetson (Dec. 18) … scored a career-high 12 points versus Alabama State (Dec. 28) in the first round of the State Farm Classic, the first double-figure scoring game of her career, as she hit 11-of-13 from the free throw line and played a career-long 26 minutes … did not travel with the team for the Dec. 1 game at South Alabama due to an upper respiratory illness … named to the SEC Community Service Team ... one double-figure scoring game.


Freshman Year (2005-06)

Played in 18 games, totaling 96 minutes ... played a season-high 21 minutes in the season opener against St. Francis (NY), when she scored a season-high seven points on 3-of-4 shooting ... totaled 24 points and 19 rebounds during the season ... scored in each of the first four games.


High School

Graduated in June of 2005 from Mitchell High School, where she was coached in basketball, track and cross country by Harold Wooten … one of five players named to the Memphis Commercial Appeal 2005 Best of the Preps … averaged nearly 19 points per game her senior year at MHS, helping the Lady Tigers to a 31-5 record … named 2005 Associated Press Tennessee All-State Team honorable mention after helping the Lady Tigers advance to the Class AA Sectionals, where she scored 32 points with nine rebounds in her prep finale … helped Mitchell to runner-up finishes in the District 16-AA and Region 8-AA tournaments … garnered 2005 TSWA Class AAA All-State First Team recognition … tallied a game-high 27 points in a 61-47 victory over Washington in the 2005 District 16-AA Girls State Tournament … named by the Memphis Commercial Appeal as its 2005 Best Prep Female Track and Field Athlete of the Year … at the 2005 Class A-AA state meet, placed third in the pentathlon, helping Mitchell win its first-ever state team title … also at the 2005 track event, won the long jump (18-5), finished second in the triple jump (35-9) and ran on Mitchell’s winning 400- and 800-relay teams … at the 2004 TSSAA Class A-AA state track meet, placed fourth in the pentathlon, second in the long jump (16-11.50), fifth in the triple jump (34-02.00) and tied for sixth in the high jump (5-00.0) … in 2003, won the state long jump title (17-03.75) and placed eighth in the pentathlon.
