Trumae (pronounced true-MAY) Lucas played two years at UF (2008-10) … announced intentions to transfer prior to the start of the 2010 Postseason WNIT and left the team, but remained enrolled at UF to complete the academic semester ... voted to the 2008-09 Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team by the league’s coaches … earned a spot on the 2010 SEC Academic Honor Roll and the 2009 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

 

Sophomore Year (2009-10)

Announced intentions to transfer prior to the start of the 2010 Postseason WNIT and left the team, but remained enrolled at UF to complete the academic semester ... appeared in each of the 30 games prior to leaving the team, starting the first three of the season ... averaged 16.4 minutes … UF’s leading guard scorer off the bench, with 5.3 points per game overall and in SEC action ... played double-figure minutes in all but four games ... scored in 28 games and held a season-long 13-game scoring streak ... scored all of her team-high 12 points in the first half at Kentucky (Feb. 18), helping UF overcome an early eight-point deficit and build a four-point halftime lead ... against South Carolina (Jan. 24), extended her scoring streak to 13 games and sank a go-ahead jumper with 17.7 seconds left that put UF up by one ... scored seven points during a game-changing 8-2 run in the final minutes of the three-point win at Mississippi St. (Jan. 17) ... had converted a career-best 11 consecutive free throws, but missed her first attempt against Auburn (Jan. 7) to end the streak ... responded to a halftime challenge by Coach Butler at Arkansas (Jan. 3), settling down to hit 1-of-3 from the field, 2-of-2 from the free throw line, grab one offensive rebound and dish one assist in the win ... led UF with a career-high 15 points, hitting 7-of-7 from the free throw line, with five assists in the win against Jacksonville (Dec. 30) ... scored a then-season-high 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting against High Point (Dec. 21), for her first double-figure scoring game of the year and the fourth of her career ... also dished a career-high five assists against High Point ... at FIU (Nov. 29), tied career-high of four assists and collected a season-high three steals ... garnered a career-high seven rebounds in the game against No. 13/10 Florida State (Nov. 17), while contributing eight points and four assists in 26 minutes of action ... earned a place on the 2010 SEC Academic Honor Roll ... four double-figure scoring games

 

Freshman Year (2008-09)

Appeared in every game except one (Arizona State, Nov. 29) and started each of the last five ... earned first career start on Feb. 22 vs. South Carolina, becoming the first true freshman to start a game since March 2, 2007, when Jennifer Mossor did so against Vanderbilt in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament ... recognized by the league’s coaches to the All-SEC Freshman Team, becoming the first Gator named to the squad since 2006, when Sha Brooks and Marshae Dotson were chosen ... averaged 12.7 minutes of playing time … scored in 21 games and totaled 127 points (4.1 ppg) ... hit 10-of-22 from the 3-point arc (45.5%) …in the NCAA Tournament first-round win over Temple (March 22), scored eight points, with three rebounds and three assists ... in the 14-game SEC slate, averaged 15.2 minutes and 5.1 points while earning a pair of starting assignments ... topped the 100-point plateau vs. Arkansas (Feb. 19) ... during a four-game span that included wins against Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee, averaged 9.2 points and 19.2 minutes ... tallied back-to-back double-figure scoring games, breaking her career-high with 14 points in the win over Kentucky (Jan. 29), as she nailed consecutive 3-pointers early in the second half to extend a nine-point lead to 15 with 15:16 to play in the game ... broke a two-game scoring drought by contributing a then-career-high 13 points against Ole Miss (Jan. 25), also collecting a career-best four steals, both team highs ... hit a 3-pointer out of a UF timeout against Ole Miss (Jan. 25) after the Rebels had cut the Gator lead to 10 with 4:08 to go that ignited a game-ending 15-4 run to secure the win … credited by Coach Butler for igniting UF’s comeback win at UAB (Dec. 3), where she scored five points, dished two assists and collected two steals in just seven minutes of action … followed that game with a then-career-high nine points at N.C. State (Dec. 7), playing in front of several home-state friends and family who made the one-hour drive to watch her play a season-long 21 minutes and hit 4-of-5 from the floor … topped her career-high for a fourth consecutive game when she totaled 10 points against Coppin State (Dec. 10), shooting 3-of-3 from the floor, 1-for-1 from behind the three-point arc and 3-of-4 from the free throw line, while grabbing a career-high four rebounds … got in the score column for the first time in her career when she sank a slashing layup with 7:29 remaining in the game against Stetson (Nov. 20) … earned a spot on the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll … three double-figure scoring games.

 

High School

Graduated from Grimsley High School in June of 2008 … named Most Outstanding Player of the 2007 North Carolina 4-A State Championship game, scoring 33 points in a tough 69-64 loss to South View High in the title game, hitting 10-of-17 from the floor and 12-of-13 from the free throw line … during her senior year, guided the Whirlies to a 29-1 overall record, including a 10-0 mark in league games, while averaging a team-best 16.4 points, in addition to contributing 6.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 3.8 steals and hitting 36 percent (36-99) from the 3-point arc and 53 percent (127-239) overall … recorded a game-high 26 points in the 2007 4-A West final game, leading Grimsley past West Charlotte, 58-51… recognized as an NCHSAA First-Team All-State performer in 2007 and 2008 … named the Metro 4-A Player of the Year in 2005-06 and 2006-07, helping the Whirlies compile a 30-2 record her junior season … invited to participate in the prestigious Adidas Top Ten All-American Camp in 2006 and 2007 … selected to the “Little Four” Invitational all-tournament team four times, collecting MVP honors her senior year … four-time All-Conference honoree … named the 2008 North Carolina East-West All-Star Game’s MVP after scoring a game-high 21 points and leading the West to a 78-73 win … represented her state in the North Carolina vs. South Carolina All-Star game in April of 2008, scoring 12 points with eight assists and three steals, but her team came up short … also a three-year member of the Grimsley track team, qualifying for regionals in the 4x200 and the 200-yard dash … coached by Phil Weaver at Grimsley and by Stanford Ray with the AAU Triad Comets.
