Susan Yenser was a 3-point shooting specialist with strong leadership qualities … team co-captain in 2007-08 and 2009-10 … sat out the 2007-08 season per NCAA rules for transfers and had two years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2008-09, her first with the Gators … earned a spot on the 2009 & 2010 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll ... signed scholarship papers to attend the University of Florida in May of 2007 under head coach Amanda Butler … spent her first two collegiate years at Clemson University, where she signed to play under Jim Davis - a former Gator assistant coach (1986-87) - who resigned before Yenser had the opportunity to suit up for him … spent the 2009 summer performing an internship at Sears in Gainesville … earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UF in December of 2009 and took master’s degree classes during the 2010 Spring semester

 

Senior Year (2009-10)

Appeared in the first 19 games and 29 of 32 overall ... averaged 10.4 minutes ... started seven games, including start time at the “4” spot in the final three regular-season games and the SEC Tournament first round contest ... scored in six of the last nine games ... against Vanderbilt (Feb. 24), tied her entire point total from the previous year, when she scored 70 points in 31 games, while only needing 25 games as a senior to match the mark ... played a SEC-season-long 19 minutes at Kentucky (Feb. 18), as she was on the floor at the ‘4’ position for the first time in her career ... had a streak of sinking at least one three-point field goal in seven straight games ... had been held scoreless in three consecutive games, shooting 0-10 from the floor, before nailing a big three-pointer on her only attempt in the win at Arkansas (Jan. 3) ... scored the 100th point of her Gator career during the game at FIU (Nov. 29) ... started the game Nov. 24 game against UAB, her first start since Feb. 19, 2009, when she got the call against Arkansas; it marked her 11th career start in a Gator uniform ... played a solid 25 minutes in the win over UAB (Nov. 24), scoring nine points, with six rebounds and four assists ... scored her 400th career point during her 11-point performance at Pittsburgh (Nov. 20) … had UF’s only blocked shot through its first two games … connected on the team’s first three-pointer of the 2009-10 season, nailing one from the right side of the arc with 12:44 to go in the first half against Stetson (Nov. 14) ... earned her bachelor’s degree in Management on Dec. 19, 2009, and took Master’s degree courses during the 2010 spring semester ... earned a place on the 2010 SEC Academic Honor Roll ... team co-captain ... one double-figure scoring game

 

Junior Year (2008-09)

Appeared in 31 of 32 games, earning 10 starting assignments ... earned first start at Florida (seventh overall) at South Carolina (Jan. 15) ... scored in 15 games … 16 games playing double-figure minutes, including nine of the last 15 contests … totaled 23 assists with just 13 turnovers … converted 18-of-53 shots from the three-point arc  (34.0%) … scored a UF-career-high 10 points against Coppin State (Dec. 10), hitting 3-of-3 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from the 3-point arc and collecting a season-high four rebounds … played a season-long 21 minutes in the road win at N.C. State (Dec. 7), scoring nine points and hitting 4-of-5 from the floor … made her offensive debut against Jacksonville, nailing her first of three 3-pointers at the 13:17 mark of the first half … waited 624 days to suit up between collegiate games, last playing on March 1, 2007, for Clemson University and was required to sit out the 2007-08 season after transferring to UF, which opened its 2008-09 campaign on Nov. 14, 2008, when she logged five minutes against FGCU ... one double-figure scoring game (11 in her career)

 

2007-08 Season

Junior transfer from Clemson University who was required to sit out the 2007-08 season per NCAA rules ... voted by her Gator teammates as one of the squad’s tri-captains despite not being able to play or travel with the team during the season ... made the journey to Nashville with her parents to cheer on the Gators at the SEC Tournament

 

Freshman & Sophomore Years (2005-07)

In two seasons at Clemson University, appeared in 58 of a possible 59 games, averaging 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds while playing 18.3 minutes per outing … during her sophomore season, emerged as the Tigers’ fifth-leading scorer, contributing 5.7 points with 2.5 rebounds while connecting on 35.6 percent (32-90) of her 3-point shots, ranking eighth among all Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) players … in her final game with the Lady Tigers, scored 21 points, hitting 8-of-9 from the floor, including 4-of-4 from the 3-point arc, in a tough, 89-82, loss to Virginia in the first round of the ACC Tournament … those four treys tied the Tigers’ record for most 3-pointers in an ACC Tournament game … received Clemson’s 2005-06 Newcomer of the Year Award at the team’s postseason banquet, as she played in 28 of 29 games, earning four starts and contributing 5.1 points and 2.0 rebounds while hitting 22-of-63 (34.9%) from the 3-point arc … stellar in the classroom, becoming one of 16 student-athletes in the league selected to the 2006-07 All-ACC Academic Basketball Team, in addition to earning 2006-07 ACC Academic Honor Roll honors after compiling a 3.6 grade point average … recognized at Clemson’s 2006-07 postseason banquet with the team’s Academic Award in addition to being the Air Force ROTC Award recipient, which is presented to the player who best exhibits the core values of the Air Force, as demonstrated by integrity, service before self, and excellence in all endeavors ... totaled 10 double-figure scoring games, with five each season

 

High School

Graduated from Harrison High School, where she became the all-time leading scorer - boys or girls - in school history, topping the 1,700-point plateau … recognized as a 5A Second-Team All-State honoree after her senior season, when she averaged 20.2 points per game … named First-Team All-Cobb Country as a junior and senior … tallied 17.7 points per outing her sophomore campaign … entering her final season was listed to the Top 10 Preseason Players-to-Watch in the state of Georgia by the Atlanta Journal Constitution … voted team captain each of her final three years at HHS … 2004 National Who’s Who in Sports Award winner … participated in the 2005 Georgia High School North/South All Star Game after her senior year, scoring 13 points for the victorious North team … 2003 and 2004 adidas All-American Top 10 Camp … coached at Harrison by Carol Paterka, now an assistant coach at Hofstra (NY) University … during the summers played AAU ball with the Georgia Bearcats, the Georgia Dream Team, the Georgia 76’ers (Peach State Hoops) and Georgia Metros … also earned two letters in softball.
