Team tri-captain and lone senior on 2007-08 squad … one of two Gators (with Sha Brooks) who started all 33 games and one of five who played in every game … scored in every game … scored in double-figures in eight of her final 10 games … in the SEC statistics for all games, ranked No. 7 for scoring, No. 6 for field goal percentage, No. 9 for steals, No. 8 for 3-pointers made and No. 16 for minutes played … at the conclusion of UF’s SEC Tournament run, jumped into the top spot as the team’s scoring leader after a strong performance in the league’s postseason event, where she averaged 18.0 points, shooting 58.3 percent (14-24) overall and 63.6 percent (7-11) from the three-point arc in two games … against South Carolina in the SEC Tournament first round (March 6), scored 21 points, hitting 5-of-7 three-pointers, while dishing a career-high seven rebounds with zero turnovers; also in that game against the Gamecocks, scored 19 of her points in the first half, when she single-handedly outscored USC, 19-17, helping UF take a 34-17 leading into the locker room… led UF in scoring (13.4 ppg), steals (68) and made three-pointers (55), while ranking second in assists (80), three-point percentage (31.8%, 55-173) and minutes played (999, 30.3 mpg) and fourth in rebounding (5.1 rpg) … tallied a season-high 24 points, thanks to a career-high six three-pointers, against FAMU (Jan. 2) …voted to the 2007 State Farm Classic All-Tournament Team (Dec. 29), the first all-tournament team honor in her career, helping UF win its home event ... named SEC Player of the Week (for Dec. 17-23) for the first time in her career after tying her then-season-high of 23 points in a victory over Saint Louis and helping UF win its third consecutive game ... recognized on Feb. 26 as SEC Community Service Player of the Week … 24 double-figure scoring games … five 20-point scoring games.
Junior Year (2006-07)
Starting guard/forward in every game except two: against Louisville (Dec. 21), when she did not play due to injury; and came off the bench against Vanderbilt (March 2) in the SEC Tournament quarterfinal because of injury ... earned SEC Academic Honor Roll status ... reset or tied her career-high point total five times, highlighted with 28 points with 13 rebounds at Vanderbilt (Jan. 14) … at Alabama (Feb. 18), topped the 500-point plateau for her career ... tallied a 20-point, 9-rebound effort at LSU (Feb. 8), netting her fourth 20-point game of her career ... has reset every career statistical category except blocks in a game (3), which she tied once … UF’s leading scorer in six games, leading rebounder in 11 and assists leader 13 times … led UF in assists (2.5 pg), steals (2.3 pg) and blocked shots (23) ... ranked second on the team in rebounding (6.9 pg) and third for scoring (12.8 ppg) ... in the SEC standings for league games ranked: t-No. 10 for scoring, No. 8 for rebounding, No. 8 for free throw percentage, No. 5 for steals and No. 6 for minutes played ... all six of her career double-doubles came during the 2006-07 season, with the last a 24-point, 12-rebound, 6-assist effort against Ole Miss (Feb. 1) … more than doubled - in some cases tripled - every offensive career category she had established entering the 2006-07 season: in 2005-06, she averaged 3.7 points and 2.8 rebounds while playing 13.8 minutes per game, while in 2006-07 contributed 12.8 points and 6.9 rebounds while seeing 30.8 minutes of court time … collected a career-high 15 rebounds at South Alabama (Dec. 1) … had a season-long streak of 14 consecutive made free throws, along with two different streaks of 12 … tied UF game record by going 11-for-11 from the free throw line at TCU (Dec. 8) … 19 double-figure scoring games … seven double-figure rebounds games … six double-doubles … four 20-point scoring games.
Sophomore Year (2005-06)
Appeared in all 30 games, starting the first three of the year ... scored in 21 games and totaled 111 points ... contributed seven points against Auburn (Feb. 2), hitting 3-of-3 from the floor with one free throw, sparking the Gators to the win by scoring four points in the final two minutes of the first half after the Tigers closed within one point ... played a valuable 16 minutes during the Jan. 22 win over No. 19 Vanderbilt ... sprained her right ankle during the Jan. 19 game at Ole Miss and played just two minutes as a result ... thrilling performance in the comeback win against Florida State (Jan. 2), scoring 13 of her then-career-high 15 points in the second half, while collecting four rebounds and four steals ... sparked UF’s 16-point second-half comeback at Charlotte (Nov. 30), collecting a then-career-high four steals all in the second half along with four points and six rebounds ... grabbed a then-career-high nine rebounds vs. Stetson (Nov. 27) ... scored a then-career-high 13 points in the season-opener against St. Francis (NY).
Freshman Year (2004-05)
Appeared in 27 of UF’s 29 games while averaging 7.4 minutes per outing … scored in 13 games, netting a season-high eight points on 4-of-6 shooting against Delaware State (Dec. 6) … played a season-long 17 minutes in the victory over Temple (Dec. 4), scoring five points with three rebounds … played an SEC-long 12 minutes at LSU (Feb. 27), when she canned a pair of free throws, while collecting two rebounds and two assists … hit 11-of-14 free throws for a 78.6 percentage … canned a three-pointer at Alabama (Feb. 6) to score her first points in an SEC game … did not travel with the team to its January 30 game at Vanderbilt due to strep throat and did not play in UF’s ensuing game versus Tennessee … during UF’s first win of the season (vs. Akron, Nov. 27), scored her first collegiate points, putting back an offensive rebound with 17:03 remaining in the game … her performance versus Akron was her most complete game of the season, putting up nine points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block in 15 minutes of play … cited by then-coach Carolyn Peck for jump-starting the defense on numerous occasions, stating after the Akron game, “We really picked up our defensive pressure and again Depree Bowden had a lot to do with our run.”
Graduated in June of 2004 from Bradenton Southeast High School, where she was coached by John Harder … a two-year captain and four-year starter for the Seminoles … completed her career netting a school-record 1,919 points along with 976 rebounds and 477 assists … produced the best four-year record in program history, 118-14, by any Southeast girls basketball player, winning four district championships, two region titles and advancing to the final four twice … Class 4A state runner-up her junior season, while helping the team to the semifinals in 2004 and the Elite 8 her first two years … team was 58-8 her final two seasons … her senior year she averaged 15.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists, helping Southeast to a 27-4 record … averaged 14.6 points, 6 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game her junior season, when she guided Southeast to the state Class 4A championship game … Herald-Tribune named her its 2004 Female Player of the Year … 2003 and 2004 Florida Sports Writers Association 4A All-State First Team selection, as well as a three-time Street & Smith All-America Honorable Mention honoree … recognized as a 2001 adidas Top Ten Camp, an adidas Top Ten Camp Upperclass All-Star and a 4A All-State honorable mention selection in 2001 and 2002 … also an accomplished volleyball player, Bowden broke Southeast’s record for kills, previously held by former Gator teammate Briana Phillips (614).
