Sophomore Year (2007-08)
Played in 32 of 33 games, earning seven starting assignments … did not accompany the team to Raleigh, N.C., for its WNIT Third Round game against N.C. State … started the first six games in addition to the Dec. 4 home win against Florida Gulf Coast … averaged 13.6 minutes, contributing 4.1 points and 1.2 assists per game … hit a steady 75.0 percent (21-28) from the free throw stripe … scored a career-high 18 points by making a career-high seven field goals in 11 attempts against Georgia (Jan. 24) … made the most of her first career starting assignment, scoring a then-career-high 17 points in the season-opening victory against Xavier (Nov. 9) and was recognized as the SEC Player of the Week for her performance … all four of her double-figure scoring games came during the 2007-08 season.
Freshman Year (2006-07)
Appeared in 28 of 31 games … averaged 10.0 minutes off the bench, totaling 68 points and 28 rebounds … rotated in as a point guard … scored in 20 games, including a stretch of eight straight, highlighted by a season-high eight points against Louisville (Dec. 21) ... hit two big field goals during UF’s upset win against Mississippi State (March 1) in the first round of the SEC Tournament ... against Ole Miss (Feb. 1) converted a three-point play with three seconds remaining in the first half to cap UF’s 6-0 run to end the half and whittle an eight-point deficit to two entering the locker room ... steady from the free throw line, hitting 20-of-27 … dished a season-high four assists at TCU (Dec. 8).
Graduated in May of 2006 from Jefferson Davis High School, where she was coached by Tim Miller … led the Lady Vols to the 2005-06 Class 6A state championship, compiling a 34-3 record … averaged 17.9 points with 4.9 rebounds, 85 assists and 73 steals her senior year, as she was named by the Alabama Sports Writers Association a 2006 Finalist for Miss Basketball and a finalists for the 2006 6A State Player of the Year ... a 2006 first team All-State selection by the Birmingham News, Thomas was named Most Valuable Player of the 2006 6A State Championship Final Four … 2006 Southeast Regional Most Valuable Player … 2006 Montgomery Advertiser Metro Player of the Year … 2006 Montgomery Tip Off Club Player of the Year … 2006 participant in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game … honored as a 2006 McDonald’s High School All-American nominee, a 2005 Street and Smith Magazine High School All-American Honorable Mention, while competing in the Alabama North/South All Star game in July 2005 in Huntsville, Ala. … in 2004 and 2005, participated in prestigious invitation-only adidas Top Ten All-American Camp … sported a final national rating of No. 27 among all shooting guards in the class of 2006 by All Star Girls Report … started every game played in her three seasons with the Lady Vols … is the all-time leading scorer for Jefferson Davis with 1,577 points … sophomore year she averaged 12.4 points with 3.0 rebounds, had 95 assists and 31 steals … during her junior year, she averaged 16.3 points with 4.4 rebounds per game, along with 84 assists and 47 steals … Made the 2005 Class 6A All Region Team along with the Montgomery Advertiser’s All- Metro 2005 Class 6A First Team, and the Class 6A All-Area team in 2004 and 2005 … her Jefferson Davis High School Team awards include: Most Points her junior and senior year and Most Assists and Miss Hustle her Sophomore year … was awarded All Tournament Team for the 2005-Bob Jones High 5th Annual Huntsville Times Lady Classis/Huntsville, Alabama, 2005-Spain Park High Lady Jag Classic/Hoover, Alabama, 2005-Bradley Central High Holiday Classic/Cleveland, Tennessee, 2004-Clay Chalkville High Thanksgiving Classic/Birmingham, Alabama, and the 2004-Spain Park High Lady Jag Classic/Hoover, Alabama.
