Tashia (TAUSH-uh) Morehead made an immediate impact during the 2003-04 season, her first with the Gators … extremely hard worker … an excellent scorer who single-handedly outscored her opponent 46-42 in the 2003 Junior College national championship game, earning MVP honors of the event after leading Gulf Coast to the 81-42 win … can score and post-up inside, in addition to consistently hitting the 3-pointer … named to the 2005 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll ... 30 double-figure scoring games … four double-figure rebounding games … four double-doubles … started 47 of the 58 games she played … 71 career three-pointers is the ninth most in UF history … graduated with the fifth-highest three-point percentage (33.3%, 71-213) in UF history … scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2006 with a degree in Exercise & Sport Science/Education ... was a third round selection in the 2005 WNBA Draft, as the Washington Mystics made her the 32nd overall pick.

Senior Year (2004-05) Appeared in 28 of 29 games, missing one due to injury … earned 17 starts, including each of UF's last 16 … scored in all except two games … had UF's best assist-to-turnover ratio (1.31) … named to the 2005 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll ... scored in double-figures in eight of the last nine games … injury-plagued first half of the season when she sprained her left ankle with 12:12 remaining in the Dec. 8 game against Stetson after straining her right quad during practice on Nov. 17 … UF's leading scorer in four games, including the season finale against USF in the WNIT, scoring 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting with seven rebounds … did not hit a three-point field goal in the season finale which snapped a streak of 15 consecutive games with at least one trey, the fourth longest streak in program history … scored a game-high 19 points in the win over Mississippi State (Feb. 13), hitting 9-of-10 from the field that included a huge three-pointer with 5:56 remaining to five UF a 53-49 lead after MSU was staging a rally … scored nine points in the final 5:56 versus MSU … scored 19 of her season-high 20 points in the first 26 minutes of the game at Alabama (Feb. 6), to go along with a team-high eight rebounds … tallied 13 points against Tennessee (Feb. 3), which included a three-pointer with 1:33 remaining in regulation that brought UF within one, 67-66, and helped UF force overtime … exploded for 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the three-point arc in the win at South Carolina (Jan. 16), sparking UF's game-rallying 24-2 run in the second half … key in the road win at Arkansas (Jan. 6), leading UF in rebounds (9), assists (5), steals (2) and blocked shots (1), while scoring 11 points in 31 minutes … hit 17 points on 4-of-9 three-pointers in the double-overtime loss to Richmond (Dec. 21) … injury-plagued first half of the season after spraining her left ankle with 12:12 remaining in the Dec. 8 game against Stetson after straining her right quad during practice on Nov. 17 … did not suit up versus Oregon State (Dec. 12) due to the ankle sprain … played only the final 15 seconds against Iowa (Nov. 26), when she was inserted to attempt a game-tying three-pointer, which was on the mark but hit the front rim as time expired … a perfect 6-of-6 from the field, including 2-of-2 from the three-point arch on the way to tallying 15 points in 14 minutes of play versus UCF (Nov. 30) … Preseason First Team All-SEC (coaches team) … 13 double-figure scoring games.

Junior Year (2003-04) Starting forward in every game ... averaged 29.9 minutes per game, the second most on the team … led UF in 3-pointers made (38), while ranking second for steals (33), minutes played (897), free throws made (78) and offensive rebounds (78), and ranking third for scoring (12.0) and rebounding (5.7) …ranked seventh in the Southeastern Conference for free throw percentage (77.2 percent) … in SEC games, was UF's second leading scorer (12.4) and rebounder (6.4), while shooting 38.1 (16-42) percent from the three-point line ... shot 51-of-60 from the free throw line in SEC games, beginning the conference slate hitting 28 straight from the charity stripe before missing her next two during the game at Vanderbilt (Feb. 1) … one of three Gators (Vanessa Hayden & Danielle Santos) who scored in every game … exploded for 17 points in the first half against New Mexico (March 20) in her NCAA Championship debut, shooting 4-of-6 from the 3-point line and grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds to post her fourth double-double of the season ... after being held scoreless in the first half at Auburn (Feb. 29), exploded out of the locker room to score UF's first nine points and help erase a 10-point deficit en route to the win ... UF's leading scorer in three games, leading rebounder twice and assists leader twice … had her first breakout performance at Georgia (Jan. 18), leading UF with 22 points and 12 rebounds en route to the upset road win, and followed up that showing with a 19 point, seven rebound effort against Alabama (Jan. 29) and a 26-point, eight rebound day at Vanderbilt (Feb. 1) … tremendous game on both ends of the floor at Tennessee (Feb. 19), scoring 18 points with eight rebounds while drawing three charges ... named SEC Player of the Week on Feb. 2 after her performances against Alabama and Vanderbilt … sat out the second half of the Nov. 25 game at Richmond as a precaution after a knee injury, but did not miss any action after that time … 17 double-figure scoring games … four double-figure rebounding games … four double-doubles.

Gulf Coast Community College (2001-03) Earned her Associates in General A.A. from Gulf Coast Community College located in Panama City, Fla., on May 9, 2003 … coached at GCCC by former Gator Roonie Scovel, who played at UF from 1980-84 … complied two-year, 70-game totals of 1,616 points (23.1 ppg), 671 rebounds (9.6 rpg), 151 assists (2.2 apg) and 118 steals (1.7 spg) … the Commodores posted a 70-1 overall record during her tenure … two-time First Team JC/CC Kodak All-American (2002, 2003) … 2003 NJCAA Region VIII Player of the Year, while Scovel collected Coach of the Year honors … two time NJCAA All-Region VIII team honoree … named MVP of the 2003 National Junior College Athletic Association championship tournament after leading the Commodores to a 81-42 victory over Western Nebraska in the title game, single-handedly outscoring WNCC by recording 46 points on 16-of-27 shooting from the field, including a 6-of-10 effort from the 3-point line, with 14 rebounds … helped GCCC to a perfect 35-0 record her second year, when she totaled 856 points (25.2 ppg) and 360 rebounds (10.6 rpg), while shooting 59.5 percent (228-of-383) from the field, including a remarkable 47.8 percent (85-of-178) from the 3-point line … during her second year also shot 80.1 percent (145-of-181) from the free throw line in addition to totaling 91 assists and 57 steals … during her first year at GCCC, Morehead led the Commodores to a 35-1 record and a third-place finish at the NJCAA Tournament … totaled 760 points and 311 rebounds for averages of 21.1 ppg and 8.6 rpg, respectively, while contributing 61 steals and 60 assists … posted shooting averages of 47.4 percent (203-of-426) from the floor, 39.7 percent (58-of-146) from the 3-point line and 84.5 percent (180-of-213) from the free throw line.

High School Prior to joining GCCC, Morehead graduated in 2001 from Bay High School (Panama City) … recognized as the 2001 Florida Ms. Basketball, averaging 30 points and 20 rebounds per game her senior year … she was a two-time FHSAA Class 5A Player of the Year during her prep career with the Tornadoes.
