Tamara (ta-MAR-uh) Stocks is a very quick and smooth player… voted by her teammates as a tri-captain of the 2001 team ... assumed the post player throne that was vacated by former All-Americans Murriel Page and DeLisha Milton... fundamentally sound product of the talent-rich Pickerington High School program which consistently produces well-rounded collegiate talent... worked part-time during the summer of 1998 for the local Gainesville radio station 101.3 FM, where she read the daily weather report ... graduated on May 5, 2001 with a degree in Public Relations... selected in the 2001 WNBA Draft on April 20, when the Washington Mystics selected her with the ninth pick in the second round (25th overall).

Senior Year (2000-01) At the team's postseason banquet, Stocks received The Instigator award, presented to the player who was most productive when in the game (team outscoring opposition while in the game) ... averaged 10.8 points per game, but stepped up her play in SEC action, averaging 12.8 ppg - third on the team …one of three Lady Gators to appear in all 30 games this season and one of only two to start every game ... ranked No. 3 on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg), No. 3 in rebounding (5.1 rpg), No. 3 in steals (41), No. 2 in free throw percentage (77.2%), No. 1 in made free throws (98) and No. 2 in free throw attempts (127) ... scored 13 points and collected six rebounds in just 15 minutes of action in the NCAA First Round win over Holy Cross (March 16) ... snared a season-high 13 rebounds against Arkansas (March 2) in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament ... led UF with 18 points in the loss to Mississippi State (Feb. 18) ... tallied her first double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds against Tennessee (Feb. 11) ... broke UF's all-time record for career starts during the game against Tennessee, when she started the 117th of her career ... had a huge second half in the win at Arkansas (Feb. 8), when she scored eight of her 15 points, grabbed six of her season-high nine rebounds and blocked three shots with two assists ... helped UF's post game dominate at South Carolina (Jan. 21), when she scored 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting … scored a game-high 18 points leading UF to a 72-59 win over Auburn (Jan. 18) … broke out of a mini-scoring slump when she recorded season-high 23 points with six rebounds and a career-high five assists against Kentucky (Jan. 7) … contributed 18 points with five steals against Tennessee State (Dec. 28) in the first round of the State Farm Classic … scored a team-high 19 points at Chicago State (Dec. 20) … started her 100th career game against Penn State (Dec. 3) … contributed 14 points with four assists at West Virginia (Nov. 29) … the season-opener at Fordham (Nov. 17) was her 100th career game played and she scored 15 points while grabbing eight rebounds and recording a career-high six steals … 15 double-figure scoring games... two double-figure rebounding games.

Junior Year (1999-2000) Played all 34 games, starting 30… UF's fourth leading scorer (9.4 ppg) and third-leading rebounder (4.3 rpg)… second-leading free throw shooter (72.9%)… notched her third double-double of the season, when she scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds - including 10 offensive boards - in the WNIT championship game at Wisconsin (March 29)... topped the 500 career rebound mark against the Badgers... became the 15th Lady Gator to score 1,000-career points, when she converted a short jumper from under the basket with 13:22 remaining in the first half against Maryland on March 21 in the WNIT quarterfinals... fouled out of 11 games… hit for 20 points in just 19 minutes, shooting 9-for-13, against Dayton (March 15) in the first round of the WNIT... shot a perfect 4-for-4 in the first round of the SEC Tournament against Arkansas (March 2)... one of three Lady Gators to score in every game this season… named to the State Farm Classic All-Tournament team (hosted by UF) after scoring a two-game total of 32 points and 10 rebounds… scored a career-high 28 points against Western Kentucky (Dec. 28)… snatched a career-high four steals at Penn State (Jan. 8)… 13 double-figure scoring games... three double-doubles this season.

Sophomore Year (1998-99) Played in every game this season, starting all except one - vs. Georgia, Feb. 18 - when she pulled herself from the lineup because of her ailing back… set a UF sophomore record by starting 32 games... UF's second-leading rebounder and fourth-leading scorer… led the team with 32 blocks and a 53.0-field goal percentage... ninth-highest field goal percentage in the SEC… her 88 free throws was the second-most by a UF sophomore... averaged 12.0 points and 8.5 rebounds during the two SEC Tournament games… tied her career-high of 22 points in the SEC Tourney quarterfinal game versus Tennessee (Feb. 26), while grabbing nine rebounds… had career highs in points and rebounds at South Carolina (Jan. 17) with 22 points and 15 rebounds… four double-doubles this season… named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll after posting a 3.36 GPA in Public Relations… tallied 21 double-figure scoring games and four double-figure rebounding games this season.

Freshman Year (1997-98) Stocks set a UF record for starts by a freshman (32)... started every game, becoming only the fourth player in the 24-year history of the program to start every game of their freshman season (DeLisha Milton, 1994-95, started all 29 games; Lisa Born, 1987-88, 28; & Angie Scott, 1988-89, 27)... complemented senior All-American Murriel Page in the paint... during UF's three NCAA Tournament games, she averaged 24.3 minutes, 14.7 points and 5.3 rebounds, while shooting 59.1 FG% and 78.3 FT% (18-23)… shared team scoring honors with 19 points and eight rebounds in her NCAA Championship debut against Montana (March 14)... followed that performance with 17 points in 24 minutes in the second round versus Virginia Tech (March 16)... plagued by foul trouble late in the regular season, reaching the limit in just 12 minutes during the SEC Quarterfinal win over Arkansas (Feb. 27)... one of three Lady Gators to score in every game (with Page & Talatha Bingham)... among the SEC leaders in field goal percentage (but did not make the minimum 5.5 per game to qualify for the official standings)… UF's fourth-leading scorer and fourth-leading rebounder... led the team in blocked shots (18) and free throw percentage (78.3%)... scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed six rebounds leading UF to a 70-62 victory over No. 25 Alabama in her SEC debut... collected first career double-double versus Purdue (Dec. 12) with 18 points and 11 rebounds... named to the State Farm Classic (Florida) All-Tournament team (Dec. 29), after scoring a total of 29 points in two games, including 20 in the championship versus Duke... led the team in scoring four times and once in rebounding... 17 double-figure scoring games.

High School First Lady Gator to play in the NIKE/WBCA Girls' High School All-America game (scored eight points with eight rebounds)... a four-year starter for Pickerington HS, Stocks graduated with 1,284 points, while shooting 66.0-percent from the field... the 1997 fourth team Parade All-American averaged 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds during her senior season, leading the Lady Tigers to 26-1 record and a No. 7 final national ranking... named the State of Ohio Player of the Year, Division I... 1997 Pickerington Holiday Classic Tournament MVP and Kodak All-American... selected for the Ohio North-South State All-Star game... holds school record for most points in a game by a junior (40 pts)... a 1994 USA Today Top Ten Freshman honoree... during her four-years, PHS reached the state finals her freshman year (No. 4 in USA Today final poll) and the semifinals her sophomore and senior seasons, where the squad finished the year ranked No. 2 and No. 7, respectively... Pickerington ranked No. 1 in a USA Today poll in 1994 after downing then-top-ranked Oregon City in the Lady Tiger Holiday Classic, as Stocks garnered All-Tournament honors... rated No. 27 in the Blue Star Index... AAU All-American with Cincinnati Niners... coached by Dave Butcher.
