Naomi Mobley (MO-blee) led the SEC in rebounding and double-doubles as a junior and a sophomore … possessed excellent athletic ability… very good instincts for the game… a determined, unselfish player … underwent surgery on her right shoulder on April 9, 2001… during the summer of 2001 decided not to return for her senior season and to play in Europe to prepare for the 2002 WNBA draft.

Sophomore Year (1999-2000) Starter in all 34 games this season after averaging just 11.2 minutes per game last year… doubled her scoring (11.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.1 rpg) averages from last season (5.2 ppg & 4.4 rpg) … named to the WNIT Final Four All-Tournament team, averaging 16.2 points and 10.8 rebounds over the five-game run... led SEC in rebounding (9.1 rpg) and double-doubles (12)... UF's leading rebounder (9.1) and third leading scorer (11.4)… led UF in blocked shots (28)… third on the team in free throw attempts (153)… recorded a team-high 19 points with a game-high 13 rebounds during the WNIT championship game at Wisconsin (March 29)... tagged Arkansas (March 25) in the WNIT semifinal game for 17 points and 11 rebounds... against Maryland (March 21), went for 12 points and 13 rebounds during the WNIT quarterfinal win... tallied her eighth double-double of the season in the first round of the SEC Tournament, when she recorded 17 points and 16 rebounds (in the second half, she had 11 points and 15 rebounds) against Arkansas (March 2)... tied her career-high of 21 points in a tough overtime loss at Georgia (Feb. 3), playing a career-high 43 minutes … scored a team-high 21 points in the upset victory over Mississippi State (Jan. 6)… snatched a career-high 17 rebounds in the championship game of the State Farm Classic vs. Boston College (Dec. 29)… voted by her teammates as the Most Improved Gator, a postseason award presented to the player who made the most progress throughout the season … leading rebounder in 22 games … 21 double-figure scoring games, 15 double-figure rebounding games and a team-high 12 double-doubles.
Freshman Year (1998-99) Played in 27 games, earning her first career start in the win at South Carolina (Jan. 17)… averaged 4.4 rebounds per game, the third highest on the team… recorded two double-doubles: against Central Florida (Jan. 11) she had a career-high 21 points with 10 rebounds and then versus Tennessee (Jan. 21) she tallied 13 points with 14 rebounds… after playing in only two of UF's first four games of the year and failing to score a point, Mobley shocked then-No. 13 George Washington when she came off the bench to spark UF with 17 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in the win… saw snow for the first time ever when the team traveled to Fort Collins, Col., to play in the Preseason NIT … tallied five double-figure scoring games, two double-figure rebounding games and two double-doubles.
High School Mobley was a three-year captain at Ed White High School, where she played under Coach Pat Adams her senior year… had a different basketball coach each of her four years at EWHS … became the first female in Jacksonville to earn All-Conference basketball honors each of her four prep years… named 1998 Class 5A first team All-State by the Florida Sports Writers Association… posted senior season averages of 21.6 points, 14.5 rebounds, 5.1 steals, 4.7 blocks and 4.0 assists per game … during her junior year she averaged 22.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, 4.2 steals, 5.8 blocks and 5.1 assists per game… signed her letter of intent to play at Florida on Nov. 12, 1997 at 9:07 a.m... also earned All-Conference honors in volleyball and track.
