CAREER: Finished with a .301 career average in 213 games, 179 of which were starts…Remarkably, Tobias raised his average all four years at Florida (.252 in 2012, .260 in 2013, .305 in 2014 and .355 in 2015) and wound up with 122 runs, 82 RBI, 28 doubles, 22 stolen bases, 11 homers and eight triples…Was also hit by a pitch 33 times…Played in a pair of NCAA College World Series for the Gators – in 2012 and 2015…Tabbed as a consensus All-American and earned second-team All-SEC recognition in 2015...Two-time member of the SEC Community Team in 2014 & 2015…Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll twice and was on the SEC All-Freshman Team and the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2012.

 

AS A SENIOR (2015): Selected in the 10th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies at No. 294…Named an All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), Baseball America, D1Baseball, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Perfect Game, Tobias paced the Orange and Blue in batting average both overall (.355) and in league contests (.357) and had a team-high 25 multiple-hit games…Reached base in his final 32 games, the most by a Gator during the season…Committed just one error all year on the hot corner in 141 chances, scored 60 runs, totaled 46 RBI, chipped in with 24 extra-base hits (14 doubles, five homers, five triples) and was 11-for-13 on the basepaths…Tobias was the second-team All-SEC pick at third base and had a .321 batting average in the Gators’ 15 postseason outings…Chosen to the SEC Community Service Team for the second straight year and was a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award…Hit .357 in SEC games, with 24 runs, 18 RBI, 10 walks and seven doubles and was 5-for-5 on the basepaths…Had a .321 clip in 15 postseason games…Delivered an RBI single and scored on a passed ball during the four-run third inning in the win over Virginia at the NCAA College World Series…Drove in Harrison Bader with an infield single as the Gators eliminated No. 8 Miami (FL) from Omaha…Began UF’s run in Omaha by contributing three RBI and scoring twice in the 15-3 win over the Hurricanes…Was 3-for-9 (.333) in the NCAA Gainesville Super Regional sweep of No. 10 Florida State…Kick-started the scoring in Game 1 with an RBI single in the first inning and was 2-for-5 with three RBI…Batted .400 (4-for-10) during the NCAA Gainesville Regional, with four runs, a pair of doubles and two walks…Went 3-for-4 in the Regional final triumph over Florida Atlantic…Played an instrumental role in Florida’s seventh SEC Tournament title with a .444 (8-for-18) batting average, a team-high seven runs and flawless defense…Had an RBI single and was 2-for-4 in the Championship against No. 9 Vanderbilt…Kept the Orange and Blue alive with a 4-for-5 outburst against Auburn in which he added two RBI and scored twice…Belted a two-run homer in the sixth inning of the finale with the Tigers that gave UF a 3-1 win…Led the Gators to the series win at Georgia by going 5-for-12 (.417)…Notched a career-high four RBI in the series opener at Mississippi State, highlighted by a three-run triple in the first inning…Was 3-for-7 (.429) during two victories over No. 21 South Carolina, with five runs and a pair of walks…Powered the club’s offense with a .556 (5-for-9) performance at Missouri, a series that saw him drive in five runs and triple twice…Cranked a two-run homer in the eighth inning that gave Florida the lead at Stetson and was 3-for-5 with three RBI against the Hatters…Opened SEC action by going 4-for-12 (.333) versus Tennessee after leading the squad with a .455 (5-for-11) clip in the sweep of Maine…Was 2-for-4 and scored twice in the 10-2 win over No. 9 UCF…Had a career day by going 5-for-5 and driving in three runs in the second win over Stony Brook and was an eye-popping 7-for-9 (.778) in two matchups with the Seawolves.

 

AS A JUNIOR (2014): Earned a berth on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row…Named to the 2014 SEC Community Service Team…Volunteered with Climb for Cancer, an event in which Gator student-athletes play games and participate with cancer-stricken kids and their siblings in a variety of sports on campus…Helps out at Littlewood Elementary School Carnival and participated in the Annual Gator Tracks shoe drive…Batted a career-high .305 in 46 games and 30 starts (27 at third base, three at designated hitter)…Scored 15 runs and equaled single-season bests in walks (9) and homers (3)…Had a .293 average in 20 SEC games, with five runs, three RBI, three walks and a pair of stolen bases…Ranked second on the Gators behind Harrison Bader (.500) with a .400 (8-for-20) postseason average in seven games…Hit .571 (4-for-7) during the NCAA Gainesville Regional, with multiple hits in both contests against North Carolina (2-for-4) and the College of Charleston (2-for-3)…Named to the SEC All-Tournament squad after batting .308 (4-for-13) with four runs, three RBI and a pair of walks…Was 2-for-3 with two runs and the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning as the Gators ousted Kentucky from Hoover…Singled up the middle to drive in Peter Alonso in the 5-1 win over Mississippi State in an elimination game at Regions Park…Started the Gators’ sixth with a homer to left field against No. 6 South Carolina and scored twice in the win…Went 2-for-5 (.400) and scored twice in the series at Tennessee…Homered and stole a pair of bases in the finale…Came through with a clutch two-run single as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning as Florida clinched the SEC Championship outright with a 4-2 triumph over the Vols…Had a pinch-hit single in the seventh inning in the second win over Missouri…Was 2-for-3 in the series lid-lifter at No. 4 South Carolina…Batted .455 (5-for-11) in the three games at Texas A&M…Belted his first homer of the campaign to left field in the third inning to open the scoring in the 4-1 win over No. 1 Florida State at McKethan Stadium…Had two multiple-hit efforts and was 5-for-11 (.455) in the sweep of UConn…Doubled, tripled and walked twice in the finale...His lone triple of the season started the 10th inning and he came home with the winning run on a single by Casey Turgeon…Provided the Gators with a 2-0 lead versus Southern Miss with a sixth-inning single that plated Taylor Gushue…Went 2-for-3 in the 4-0 shutout of FGCU.

 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013): Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll…Played 51 games and made 45 starts (30 at third base, nine at second base and six as Florida’s designated hitter)…Batted .260 with 21 runs, 18 RBI, nine walks, five doubles and three homers…Was 6-for-9 on stolen-base attempts…Had eight multiple-hit games and five multiple-RBI outings…In 27 SEC games, with 24 starts, Tobias hit .271 with 12 RBI, 11 runs and seven extra-base hits (four doubles, three round-trippers)…Led the Gators with a .625 (5-for-8) clip during the NCAA Bloomington Regional, highlighted by a career-best 4-for-4 effort against Valparaiso…Singled in the second, roped an RBI double in the fourth, delivered an RBI single in the fifth and stroked another single in the eighth inning versus the Crusaders…Singled and scored on a wild pitch in the fifth frame of the SEC Tournament meeting with Texas A&M…Had an RBI double in the second contest at Georgia after going 2-for-3 with a run scored in the opener in Athens…Rescued the Orange and Blue with a game-tying three-run homer with two down in the ninth against Auburn…The Gators went on to emerge victorious on a walk-off double by Zack Powers…Tobias had opened the weekend against the Tigers by going 2-for-4 with a double…Equaled his career high with two thefts in game three at No. 3 LSU…Singled and scored in UF’s 3-2 win over Tennessee in 10 innings…Notched a pair of RBI singles and was 3-for-5 in the first encounter at Missouri…Gave the Gators a 2-1 lead against FGCU with a sixth-inning base-knock into left field…Had a pinch-hit RBI single in the 10-run, sixth-inning outburst versus No. 8 South Carolina…Had brought the Gators within 3-2 with an RBI grounder in the eighth inning of the second meeting with the Gamecocks…Tallied the game-winning RBI with a ninth-inning sacrifice fly to lift Florida to a 4-3 triumph at No. 7 Florida State…Delivered a two-run double and an infield single during the eight-run fifth stanza that propelled UF to a victory over No. 17 Mississippi State…Had a couple of singles and two walks in the series at No. 2 Vanderbilt…Paced the squad’s offense with a .400 (4-for-10) effort to start SEC play against No. 10 Kentucky…Went 2-for-4 with a leadoff homer in the second inning of game two after beginning the scoring in the league opener with a two-out dinger in the third frame…Scored twice and had a stolen base in the 6-4 victory over Indiana…Went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs in the 12-inning battle with Georgia Southern…Poked a two-run single for his initial hit of the season in the series-clinching victory over Duke.

 

AS A FRESHMAN (2012): One of the five Gator baseball players named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll…Lone Gator selected to the SEC’s All-Freshman Team, marking the third year in a row that a UF third baseman had made the squad, following Austin Maddox (2010) and Zack Powers (2011)…Received the Steve Georgiadis Award, presented to the Gator baseball player who has most overcome adversity…The Georgiadis Award is given in memory of former Gator pitcher Steve Georgiadis, who passed away on March 17, 1990…After suffering a hand injury at South Carolina on March 22, Tobias did not return to action at third base until over a month later against Bethune-Cookman…Started 44 of the 51 games that he played at third base…Hit .252 with 26 runs, 10 RBI and seven extra-base hits (five doubles, two triples)…Had six sacrifice hits and was 3-for-5 on the basepaths…Batted .261 in 19 SEC games, including 16 starts, with six runs and four RBI…Roped a pair of singles and scored in the NCAA College World Series meeting with No. 4 South Carolina…Was 3-for-9 (.333) and scored twice during the NCAA Gainesville Super Regional…Provided what proved to be the winning margin with a two-out RBI single in the 10th inning of game two against No. 11 NC State…Blasted a two-run double in the NCAA Gainesville Regional final triumph over No. 24 Georgia Tech…Went 2-for-4 with an RBI single as the Gators eliminated South Carolina from the SEC Tournament…Batted .364 (4-for-11) with two runs and two RBI during the series at Auburn…Had two hits in the 11-inning victory over North Florida…Singled in the eighth inning of game two at No. 3 Kentucky and also singled and scored in the first matchup between the Gators and Wildcats…Suffered a hand injury at South Carolina on March 23 and did not return to action at third base until April 25…Was 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the second inning of the win over Samford and scored on a wild pitch…Singled and scored in his SEC debut versus Vanderbilt…Doubled, laid down a sacrifice bunt and was 2-for-3  in the victory over No. 6 Florida State at McKethan Stadium…Had a career-high two stolen bases and scored twice against Florida Gulf Coast on March 10…Tallied a career-best three runs in the win over Florida A&M…Notched his first career triple and was 2-for-4 with two runs against Florida Atlantic…Scored three runs during the series at No. 8 Miami (Fla.)…Started all three games on the hot corner to kick off the season with No. 16 Cal State Fullerton…Had an infield single for his first collegiate hit on opening night.

 

SUMMER: Played for the Yarmouth-Dennis (Mass.) Red Sox of the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2012 with Gator teammate Justin Shafer…The Red Sox advanced to the league’s Championship Series and were defeated by the Wareham Gatemen…Batted .250 in 18 games, with seven RBI, six runs and six walks…Had two doubles and a homer, to go along with one stolen base.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Infielder from Southeast Guilford High School who played for head coach David Beasley and earned all-conference recognition all four years of his career…Selected in the 31st round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft by the Washington Nationals with the 937th choice…Rated No. 2 in the state of North Carolina and ranked No. 35 in the Class of 2011 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…Was a first-team Preseason All-American by Rawlings and named to the Atlantic All-Region First Team…Helped lead Southeast Guilford to the 4-A West Regional Championship Series last season and picked up all-state honors…Chosen as the Metro Conference Player of the Year, Tobias batted .502 with 45 stolen bases, 11 doubles and nine homers…Participated in the 2010 AFLAC All-American High School Baseball Game in San Diego and was on the East squad with Gator classmates Johnny Magliozzi, Brandon Sedell and Sean Trent…Batted .370 as a junior, scored 42 runs, collected 30 stolen bases, drew 16 walks and had 14 extra-base hits (six doubles, five homers, three triples)…Member of the National Honor Society, French Club and was a student ambassador in high school.
