2014 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll

 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2014): Named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll…Saw action in 28 games, making one start at second base…Batted .120 (3-for-25) with six runs, two walks and a stolen base…Played in 14 SEC games and was 2-for-15 (.133) with five runs and a walk…Started the regular-season finale at Tennessee and went 1-for-5 with a base-hit into left field…Came on as a pinch runner in the first meeting with the Vols and stole second base in the 10th inning…Scored twice and drew a walk in the series-opening victory at No. 20 Alabama…Came home on an RBI double by Zack Powers at No. 4 South Carolina, part of the Gators’ four-run eighth inning that sealed the series win…First hit at Florida was a pinch-hit single into left field in the ninth inning at Texas A&M…Drew a pinch-hit walk in the eighth inning of the second matchup with Maryland and scored on a two-run single by Buddy Reed.

 

AT COLLEGE OF CENTRAL FLORIDA (2013): Batted .318 with 31 runs, 17 RBI and seven doubles, with a .373 on-base percentage and a .359 slugging percentage in 46 games last spring for the Patriots…Was also 15-for-16 on the basepaths…Hit .301 in 22 conference games, with 12 runs, seven RBI and five doubles, to go along with a .361 slugging percentage and a .341 on-base percentage…Was successful on all four stolen-base attempts.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Enjoyed a standout prep career at Chambersburg Area Senior High School for head coach Bob Thomas, hitting .324 as a senior while earning all-area recognition from the Patriot-News…Swiped 29 bases in 32 attempts and was the Trojans’ leadoff hitter…Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Young Life and was a member of Chambersburg’s basketball team…Was selected to join leaders representing numerous high schools from throughout the Central and Northeast sections of the state at the Central Pennsylvania Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar.
