AS A JUNIOR (2014): Chosen to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row…Taken in the eighth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays at No. 234 overall…Made 18 appearances on the mound , including a pair of starts, and was 1-0 with a 4.17 earned run average in 36.2 innings…Notched 27 strikeouts and issued seven walks…Also started 29 games as a position player, 15 in left field, 12 in right fielder and two as UF’s designated hitter, and hit .211 with 12 walks, 10 RBI and 10 runs…Appeared in nine SEC games and was 0-0 with a 6.46 ERA in 15.1 innings, with five strikeouts…Hit .237 (9-for-38) in 15 league contests, with eight walks, six RBI and five runs…Retired all 12 batters he faced and set a season high with five strikeouts in the NCAA Gainesville Regional meeting with the College of Charleston…Worked a career-high 4.2 innings out of the bullpen, giving up two hits and a run, and earned the victory as the Gators eliminated No. 22 Mississippi State from the SEC Tournament…Was 1-for-3 and scored twice in the win over No. 6 South Carolina in Hoover…Threw 1.2 scoreless innings as Florida clinched the SEC Championship with a 4-2 victory at Tennessee…Called upon for two innings as the Orange and Blue completed the sweep of Missouri, 6-5, in 10 innings…Saw action on the bump in the two wins at No. 4 South Carolina…Poked a fourth-inning RBI single as UF edged Georgia, 3-2…Belted a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth to left field to lift the Gators past No. 4 LSU, 2-1…Delivered four shutout innings and three strikeouts in his first start of the year, a 4-1 win over No. 1 Florida State in Jacksonville…Also went 1-for-3 and scored twice in that contest against the Seminoles…Batted .400 (4-for-10) and drove in two runs in the series at No. 17 Miami (FL)…Struck out four Maryland hitters in his season debut as the Gators claimed the rubber game of the series.

 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013): Earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll…Joined Taylor Gushue and Casey Turgeon in starting all 59 games (39-RF, 11-LF, 9-DH, 4-P)…Tied for second on the Gators with a .300 batting average…Was among the SEC leaders with 17 doubles, scored 30 runs and totaled 25 RBI…Tied for the team lead with five homers and drew 16 walks…Paced Florida’s offense with 18 multiple-hit games and was second on the club with six multiple-RBI efforts…Totaled nine appearances on the mound and was 1-1 with a 5.20 ERA in 27.2 innings…Registered 26 strikeouts and yielded 10 walks…Started on the hill against Duke, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville and Florida A&M…Hit .277 with 14 runs, 11 RBI, seven doubles and seven walks in SEC activity and pitched in league games versus South Carolina and Missouri…Was chosen to the 2013 NCAA Bloomington Regional All-Tournament squad after going 4-for-8 (.500) over Florida’s two outings, highlighted by a three-run round-tripper in the sixth inning versus Austin Peay that had moved the Orange and Blue in front by a 3-1 score…In the elimination game against Valparaiso, he went 3-for-5 with singles in the third, seventh and ninth frames… Went 4-for-11 (.364) in the final regular-season series at Georgia and scored twice…Notched career-highs in strikeouts (8) and innings pitched (6.0) and also singled and scored in the beating of Florida A&M…Collected his first collegiate win with the solid outing…Legged out his first career triple in the finale with Tennessee and was 2-for-4 with a homer and a double in the series-opening win for UF…Two of his four hits in the visit to Missouri were doubles…Contributed a 2-for-5 effort in the triumph over FGCU in Fort Myers…Hit .417 (5-for-12) during the sweep of No. 8 South Carolina, featuring a two-run double in the 10-run sixth inning of the finale…Went 2-for-4 in the second meeting with No. 17 Mississippi State…Helped the Gators take two of the three encounters with No. 11 Ole Miss by going 5-for-13 (.385) with four runs…Had opened the weekend with a 3-for-5 showing…Chipped in with at least one hit in all three games at No. 2 Vanderbilt and was 4-for-13 (.308) at Hawkins Field…Was 3-for-5 in the third game versus No. 10 Kentucky…Totaled two doubles and was 3-for-4 against Jacksonville at McKethan Stadium…Led the Gator offense with a .583 (7-for-12) clip in the series victory over No. 21 Miami (Fla.) and had two three-hit outings…Had a team-leading .363 (4-for-11) average in the weekend set with FGCU…Tagged a three-run homer in the fifth inning against Georgia Southern and hurled four innings in the contest…Went 3-for-10 (.300) with three runs and a couple of doubles on the first weekend of action…Made his first career start on the mound in the series finale against Duke (2.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R).

 

AS A FRESHMAN (2012): Named to the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll…Appeared in 50 games, with 44 starts (41-LF, 2-RF, 1-DH), and batted .284 with 27 RBI, 13 walks, 11 runs, eight doubles and eight sacrifice flies…Reached base in his final 14 games last season, the third-longest stretch to end the campaign behind All-Americans Mike Zunino (16) and Preston Tucker (15)…Also made six relief appearances totaling six innings and was 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA…Notched seven strikeouts and issued one walk…Started 20 of the 24 SEC games he played in and hit .264 with eight walks, six runs and five RBI…Ranked second behind Tucker (.393) with a .360 (9-for-25) batting average in seven NCAA Tournament contests…Led the Gators in Omaha with a .444 (4-for-9) clip and a .778 slugging percentage…Roped a pair of doubles and went 2-for-5 against No. 9 Kent State…Began the NCAA College World Series by going 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run versus No. 4 South Carolina…Went 3-for-7 (.429) in the Gainesville Super Regional sweep of No. 11 NC State, with two RBI in the second game on a sacrifice fly and a single…Drove in a pair of runs in the Gainesville Regional final against No. 24 Georgia Tech with a two-run single up the middle in the first stanza…Had a poked an RBI single in the first meeting with the Yellow Jackets…Member of the 2012 SEC All-Tournament squad after hitting .294 (5-for-17) and having at least one hit in all four of Florida’s games in Hoover, Ala…Had a two-run single that opened the scoring in the first round against Auburn and added an RBI single in the sixth inning…Went 2-for-4 in the second matchup with No. 25 Mississippi State…Delivered a run-scoring double and was 2-for-3 in the 11-inning win over North Florida…Set a career best with three hits in the finale at No. 3 Kentucky…Provided the Gators with an insurance run by driving in Connor Mitchell in the ninth inning with a base-hit into center field during the 5-3 triumph…Had a career-high six at bats and was 1-for-6 in the 16-inning tussle with Georgia…Had a pair of singles in the win over Georgia Southern...Went 2-for-4 and scored a run in the second game at Tennessee…Hit .500 (3-for-6) in the series at No. 16 Ole Miss and drove in a couple of runs…Established a career best with six RBI in the 15-2 victory over Florida A&M…Finished 1-for-2 with three sacrifice flies that drove in four runs, added a two-run double as part of a four-run seventh and also struck out the side in the ninth against the Rattlers…Doubled down the left-field line in the conquest of Florida Atlantic…Was 2-for-2 and ripped a two-run single in the fourth inning that helped to complete a weekend sweep of William & Mary…Debuted on the mound by pitching two-thirds of an inning versus No. 16 Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 19…Had recorded his first career RBI with a sacrifice fly against the Titans the previous day.

 

SUMMER: Played for the Yarmouth-Dennis (Mass.) Red Sox of the Cape Cod League in 2012 with Gator teammate Josh Tobias and played in four games in 2013…Batted .315 with 16 RBI, 13 runs, four doubles and a pair of homers in 29 regular-season games as the Red Sox finished as the runner-up in the Eastern Division and were third overall in the regular-season standings before advancing to the 2012 CCBL Championship Series…Hit .273 (6-for-22) in seven playoff games, with seven RBI, four runs, three doubles and a couple of walks…Started all three contests of the Championship Series versus Wareham and contributed two RBI as the Gatemen won the title…Doubled and scored in the decisive third game but Wareham rallied with three runs in the ninth to forge a tie and plated three more runs in the 10th to seize the trophy by an 8-6 count…Helped his team even the series with a squeeze play with the bases loaded in the eighth that resulted an insurance run…Provided the Red Sox with a 2-0 lead in game one with an infield single and was 1-for-3 with a walk…Wareham rallied from a 4-2 deficit with single runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth inning to notch a 5-4 victory…Batted .333 (2-for-6) as Y-D swept its first-round playoff series against the Chatham Anglers…Went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in game two…Homered to lead off the third inning in the first meeting and was 1-for-2 with a walk.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Outfielder/right-handed pitcher from Lake Wales High School who played for head coach Jasone DeWitt…Earned all-state recognition in both baseball and football for the Highlanders...Co-recipient of the 2011 Polk County Male Amateur Athlete of the Year Award…Ranked No. 37 in the state of Florida according to Perfect Game…Was the PolkPreps.com 2011 Baseball Hitter of the Year…Posted a .535 batting average with 35 RBI, 26 stolen bases and a pair of homers and helped his squad to the regional finals…As a pitcher, the righty turned in a 6-2 record with a 1.98 ERA…Participated in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Baseball Classic…Led Lake Wales to the regional finals for the second year in a row as a junior…Batted .472 with 49 RBI and nine homers and was the 2010 Baseball Hitter of the Year…On the mound, he went 10-1 with a 1.03 ERA and had 90 strikeouts in 67.2 innings…Hurled a no-hitter against Winter Haven, one the top-hitting teams in the county…Was also the starting quarterback for the Highlanders’ football team…Named the 2010 News Chief’s Football Player of the Year after leading the county in passing with over 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns…Led Lake Wales to the state semifinals in 2009 with 2,361 passing yards and 21 touchdowns…Named second-team all -state in Class 3A and was first-team All-Polk County.
