HIGH SCHOOL: Right-handed pitcher and first baseman who played for head coach Wes Brooks at Oxford High School…Is the school’s only five-time varsity letterwinner in baseball…Was a first-team Louisville Slugger All-American as a senior, when he was 9-3 with a 1.89 earned run average and had 149 strikeouts and 12 walks in 83 innings…Ranked as the No. 1 right-hander and the No. 4 player in the state of Alabama in the Class of 2012 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…Named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Super All-State Team comprised of 10 players and was first-team all-state in Class 6A…Was the Most Valuable Player of the Alabama state finals and was the Class 6A Pitcher of the Year as the Yellow Jackets captured the state championship…Took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and finished with a one-hit, 2-0 shutout as Oxford won game one of the AHSAA Class 6A Championship Series…Struck out 12, walked none and came within just one batter of pitching his second perfect game of the state playoffs…Had thrown a seven-inning perfect game during the opening round of the tournament…Was a first-team Preseason All-American by Rawlings and was named to the Southeast All-Region First Team by Rawlings/Perfect Game prior to his senior campaign…Participated in the Perfect Game All-American Classic at PETCO Park in San Diego in August 2011…Batted .440, drove in 47 runs and belted seven homers as a junior…As a sophomore, he hit .358, with 36 RBI and five home runs, earning Diamond Dazzler honors, a team comprised of the top players in The Anniston Star’s coverage area regardless of classification...Was also a member of the National Honor Society and in the student government at Oxford.
